I think you just have to bite the bullet and take spare clothes wherever you go. It was much easier than I expected tbh. We have a potette which can be used as a potty (although we never have) or on a big toilet to make it toddler suitable. It’s pretty portable, fits in a bag. Toilet before you go places and then scope out toilets when you arrive. As for nighttime, just wait until they’re consistently waking with a dry nappy, and then take it off. I think the night time bit is more out of our control as it requires them producing a hormone or something 🤷🏼♀️
@Sophie This is good to know that it won’t happen quickly. My girl still wakes with a very wet nappy and she tends to drink water throughout the night or ask for it. Even though she drinks loads during the day too! 🙈🙈
Always make sure they don’t drink fluids just before bed and use the toilet just before bed too. Helps! If you think ahh they fell sleep before being able to get them in the toilet you’re gonna have to wake them briefly with the potty close by
@Amy thank you. She actually has a small amount of milk before bed (small amount as it’s a bit more placebo effect at this point!) but she does drink her water during the night. I’ll limit her water bottle to just a little drop and try give her milk a bit earlier, before bath time maybe!
No more accidents out the house than in. But overnight is something that happens naturally so I'd only remove the nappy when it's pretty much dry overnight for a few nights in a row. We've been day potty trained for 6 months but overnight he's nowhere near ready
