You’re late for an appointment, and the bus arrives, but there are already two buggies on the bus. Do you get on or wait for the next one?

There's a video on TikTok on this. The poster was catching a bus with her baby in a big travel system. There are already 2 buggies on the bus. She told the driver, “It’s okay, I’ll fold mine up”. The driver then approached one of the buggy owners to fold her buggy, and she said no. Her toddler was in the buggy. The poster then got super upset because she struggled to close her buggy with a bag and a baby in her arm. The lady who refused to fold her buggy did not acknowledge her struggle even though her child is of walking age. The poster is upset over this. So, should the other lady have folded her buggy, or should the poster wait for the next bus and be late for her appointment?

Sometimes people just suck. Id have asked her to hold the diaper bag while i closed my stroller 😂

In the UK the bus driver doesn’t let anyone else with a buggy get on if there are already 2 buggies

@Sara this was in London.

When I’m on the train or bus w my toddler he’s sitting on me not the pram, but that’s because he wants to look outside the window. If in that situation it takes 2 secs for me to put my toddler down next to me on the seat and fold my pram. She was a bit selfish yeah. Can’t just plop a baby down on the side 🙄 That mum needs to meet Empathy coz it seems like she needs her in her life.

Absolutely should of folded her pram. A toddler can walk/sit up unaided, a baby cannot. However, usually in the UK they don't let anyone else on with a pram if there's already 2 so that's strange! This has happened to me before and because I physically couldn't handle holding my toddler, bags and folding his pram I got off and got the next bus and let mom with baby on! It's not hard to not be a dick

Not sure about the rest of the uk but definitely in London you can get on if there’s 2 buggy’s already and you offer to fold yours down. I’ve not seen the video but from the description on this post the video maker offered to fold her buggy so she could get on the bus and then expected someone else to fold theirs instead, if she wasn’t actually willing to fold her buggy then she should have waited for the next bus. I do see both mums POV but if I was on the bus first with my toddler I would be a bit annoyed with the other mum expecting me to get my toddler out

My baby is only 8 months but if I saw a mum getting on the bus with a younger baby and harder to close pushchair I would get my girl out and fold it. It costs nothing to be kind and my pushchair folds easily

@Kellie but what if her toddler is neurodivergent? She doesn't owe anyone that explanation to not want to take her kid out of the buggy.

South London here, bus driver would definitely just not let me on. I’ve actually been in this situation before, ended up walking 35 minutes up a HUGE hill. Luckily it wasn’t even further

@Allie, even in north west London, no bus driver would let me on with a buggy if there were already two buggys on.

In Wales where I am from the driver doesn’t let the person onto the bus if there isn’t space. No one would be obliged or told to fold their prams. I would say using public transport with a pram you have to be mindful of the fact there might not be space due to not just other prams but people in wheelchairs or older people with walkers ect so need to allow more time to get to an appointment to be honest
