Put tea tree oil on his hair all over lather it up good let it sit for a few hrs it suffocates the nits. Then you wanna wash it out using a lot of shampoo and you’re gonna comb it through in the shower. Add the conditioner and leave it in the hair or wash it out and reapply the tea tree oil then your going to get a towel and use a head lice comb I suggest using metal ones in general but for a 2yr old maybe opt for plastic one(metal ones teeth are usually closer and better to see the nits with) But anyway put a white towel over your lap and over your kids shoulders and start combing through in small sections go over same section a few times before moving on to the next. If struggling to keep still high chair and tv for entertainment or snacks keep towel on their shoulders and put other end over one of ur shoulder like a drape ( this is so you can wipe the nits you pull out on to the towel.
Important note: Shampoo/conditioner n tea tees oil suffocates the nits and kills them but sometime there are ones still half alive You can use back of your nail to squeeze them again the comb in order to do so if u see one still moving or want to be sure you will know as you will hear them pop lets say. Depending how lousy his head u will either need to do it every day or every other day this process. When finished if hair is long tie up and plait it. Wash and change pillowcases nits get trapped in them it will look like black dots if they get trapped if you’ve missed any dead ones will fall onto pillowcase Wash pillows too all on a hot wash heat kills them same with towel after you’ve used it. Sending into school put tea tree oil on his hair it also repels nits cause of the smell again if it’s long tie up and plait it helps when he may be touching heads with other kids helps protect his hair and yours and others kids.
If your son’s hair strands are very fine you will have trouble getting the eggs out. That is the most difficult part so I suggest head and shoulders, vinegar or apple cider vinegar type of things that get rid of dandruff but also this is why I suggest the metal lice comb as they are better for getting rid of the eggs My mum really really struggled with getting the eggs out of my hair when I was a kid so it was a struggle for us I ended up with lice on like 3 separate occasions there was a lice specific shampoo we used which worked great but I don’t think it’s around anymore or it was rebranded but unfortunately I don’t know the same so I can’t suggest it but if you can afford a lice specific shampoo and conditioner definitely get it as some are expensive and I also think you can go to gp for advice they can prescribe headlice treatment /shampoo now days if all else fails.
Thank you so much mamas! This is so helpful ♥️
please please don’t try any silly methods on the internet e.g. vinegar/mayo, i suffered insane when i was a child and took me literal years to get rid, the best way i suggest is coating his hair in tea tree conditioner and coming through it every night or using an over the counter oil like hedrin and then combing through, dont beat yourself up over it, you weren’t to know mama💗
