Care package for friend going through IVF

I wondered if anyone in this group who got pregnant via IVF might be able to give me some advice. I'm currently expecting but my best friend is about to start IVF. We've both been super open about TTC and she has been incredibly supportive through my pregnancy so far. I try to be careful of how much I discuss with her as I know it's such a sensitive time but she is also very excited for me and wants to discuss/ check in with me too which is lovely. Since I know she's about to start treatment I wanted to get her some sort of gift/ care package for this time. I wondered if anyone had personal experience of things they think would have been nice to receive during their treatment?

Lots of people swear by acupuncture before doing IVF, so maybe a voucher for that? An electric heat pad is always handy for warming up injections and soothing injection sites. A soft blanket, cosy socks and a nice robe (these will come in very handy when she does her egg retrieval). Maybe a good book for distraction?

Aw, I have been in the same situation! I would just regularly check in as she goes through the stages. I think I dropped her round some flowers, choccys, smoothies, fruit and a jigsaw My friend was told to stay away from any chemicals/smelly soaps etc as apparently it can affect the eggs during collection and implantation. She also had acupuncture too!

Acupuncture voucher is a great idea, also possibly a massage voucher but I’d steer clear of a muscle massage and nothing deep tissue, and maybe go for something like a foot massage or a head massage. So she’s relaxed as much as possible before she embarks this round 😊

No advice but you’re a wonderful friend x

I've used Not Another Bunch of Flowers a few times, and it's always been well received... https://www.notanotherbunchofflowers.com/

I’d say fluffy socks + chocs. Avoid products/lotions etc. Maybe a large water bottle, if she’s in to that kinda thing, as drinking LOTS of water is recommended. Or even just a caring message in a card is a lovely gesture ❤️
