@Natalee how long did you wait to go to the doctor? Were you using the same milk to formula ratio? I really hate to do miralax. I had to with my son since he was really young and it just makes me nervous
@Sherissa we’ve honestly been using miralax with her on and off for several months when she gets constipated or it hurts for her to go. I had just brought this up yesterday at her 12 month appointment and the dr suggested the miralax because she doesn’t want pooping to be painful and then for her to be afraid of going. If it gives you any more peace of mind, my sister is a pediatric pharmacist at a children’s hospital and she also suggests miralax and has ensured me it is safe!
@Natalee Every baby is different and you should not be telling a parent to do something just because YOUR Dr said to do it. She needs to talk to HER Dr and find out what's best for her baby
@Abby jesus christ you need to settle down lol I’d imagine she will be consulting her doctor. Holy moly
Thank you ladies
My son has was diagnosed with reflux and GERD around 3 months and we’ve been on oatmeal in the bottles as well. When I transitioned him I didn’t go to a lactose milk, I went with a whole milk lactose intolerant milk (even though he doesn’t have an allergy) as well as adding oatmeal to the milk. I did a very small ratio of oatmeal while on milk just enough for him to comfortably transition to milk, once he got used to that I started adding less and less oatmeal to each bottle. Now he has absolutely no problems with it! It did take a good 2 weeks, don’t feel discouraged it can take a little bit for their bellies to adjust to something to new!
The first 4 days were rough when trying to poop, once his belly adjusted he had no problems! I would give it a week then go see the doctor:)
@Natalee Excuse you, don't ever tell me to settle down. You clearly don't realize that just because something is safe for your baby doesn't mean it's safe for others
@Abby hello I would appreciate if you would stop replying in this thread. I understand your intentions are well meaning but now it's become a fight in a thread where myself and others may come together and discuss the effects we are seeing with our children

@Sherissa she blocked me so lol that was just insane. Never had that happen on here or in this group before. Sheesh. I’ll see myself out. Good luck.
@Azlynn thank you. I never transitioned my son due to allergies (he eventually grew out of) so this is new. The doctor requested we do whole milk and I completely forgot about the lactose free milk until you just mentioned it! I'll keep an eye on her and talk with her doctor to hopefully make this an easier transition
@Sherissa my sons Dr even said it was okay to be on a lactose free milk that he even was. He explained it to me basically that even if you don’t have an allergy or even a full intolerance there are just aspect of dairy that can and will naturally hurt ones stomach. I hope things get better, I’m here if you want to talk about anything, I understand how rough it is, we just very recently came out on the other side of everything!
@Sherissa Girl be quiet, I can comment on whatever I want to comment on. Don't ever tell me what to do
Similar! Use miralax in her bottle. Our pediatrician suggested that yesterday
