Car seats on planes and coach transfers - thoughts?!

Advice please! We’re going on our first holiday abroad with our very nearly three year old this week and reading the easyJet ‘travelling with children’ info suddenly highlighted that we can take a car seat or CARES on the flight for my daughter, which I hadn’t considered. Also a bit confused about what to do for the coach transfer. My understanding is that we don’t HAVE to use a car seat for either, but obviously concerned about safety - but also how to know if the car seat will fit (in the coach especially). I just wanted to gauge what other people have done when travelling.

We're on holiday now, we've done 3 overseas holidays with our son now and we've never taken a car seat. This is the first year he's had his own seat on the plane and he loved that but coach transfers, he was on either mine or my husbands knee. We're in cyprus now and are using buses quite a lot to get round, he stays in his Pram on them. When we went to florida, we hired a car over there and it came with a car seat. Could that be an option for you? Then you can drive yourself to the hotel instead of coach transfer?

Also never taken seats on our holidays. Rented cars with seat, or held him on our knees for transfers. Taxis are never reliable for car seats either, even when booked and requested. We ended up with a booster for a one hour drive in Greece when he was only 1.

@Lucy thanks for replying! It’s not a long journey on the coach and the cost is included in our holiday - I think I’m just overthinking it as it’s our first time travelling abroad with my daughter and I’m a bit anxious. Doing the last minute panic 😅

@Elly no problem. It was about a 40min journey for us to get to our hotel and he sat on my husbands knee the whole way and was absolutely fine. She will love it. Its so great that we get to show our kids the world from such a young age 🥰
