Pushchair recommendations🤰🏻

Hi all, does anyone have any pushchair or car seat recommendations? We just tried the Mamas & Papas Vardo range and really liked it but how do you know what to go for without trying everything?

On my second and HATED the joie car seats and prams, I had a small baby (not prem or anything) but she stayed small for so long and the straps on the joie travel system we had was awful and then when she got bigger, we got a new joie car seat to RF and again, the straps r awful for my small almost 2 y/o We have now swapped to Puggle brand for our second and it’s SO nice. We have the Memphis, it’s a double for a toddler and newborn (whole travel system, got it from the nursery store for £500 off!) but just the whole puggle brand has been SO much better than joie imo, I find the new pram so much more spacious, sits nicer and smoother

Haven’t tried any other brands but just now absolutely hate joie lol x Brother in law & his gf also have a puggle brand travel system for their twins and have no complaints

@Lissa okay, avoid Joie, thanks! 😅

I thought I wanted a big fancy pram with all the bells and whistles for my first. HATED IT. A huge i candy. I wish i had known how important it is to have something light that all just folds down as one. If I was able to get a new pram this time I’d get something from newborn to toddler age. No need for a fancy bassinet part. Something that lies flat for newborn but can transition to toddler too.

Loved my cybex car seat that lies flat, so if the baby is sleeping no need to move them. Because they can only be in a car seat for a limited time at the start due to the body position. But if your car seat can lie flat then it resolves this and they can stay in for up to 2 hrs!

@Rachel fab, we looked at this one at Mamas & Papas and really liked it for that reason too! Thanks!

I’ve done a lot of research and have seen loads of people recommend the bugaboo fox 5! I’ll be looking into this as I think you’re also able to use it for overnight sleep too which is handy. It also folds well and great for uneven pavements etc easy to move around and has breathable hood too. I’m yet to test it out but it’s what I’ve seen a lot of mums recommend x

Used to work as a nanny - Bugaboo all the way! Mamas and papas, I candy and Joolz are so heavy and bulky! Nuna is so hard to manoeuvre

Cybex or the new maxi cosi for car seats until age 4-5, then britax x

We had a Joie for my son and it wasn't amazing. Friends of ours had a nuna though and it seemed really great and they loved it and used it for way longer than we used ours!

@RD fab, I’ll have a look into this one! Thanks!

@Dessy That was the downfall of the Mamas and Papas one, even though it was their lightest model, it was still pretty hefty!

@Hope yep! Avoid Mima too - very fancy but so bulky 😅

No experience here but we’re looking at the bugaboo fox 5 based on recommendations and like the sound of the cybex car seat based on comments here xx

I love our Nuna Triv Next! We have a small flat and this one folds away super easy and small. We also got the pippa urban car seat and the bassinet ♥️ would highly recommend having a look at the Nuna range!

@Dee will do! Thanks!

I’d avoid Kiderkraft, mybabie, puggle I feel like they are all poorly made and just look cheap, I’ve had people getting them as they didn’t want to spend a bit extra on a quality pram, obviously there’s travel systems that you pay for the name, icandy and egg etc, but mamas and papas xt3 flip was my first baby’s pram, ans I have now brought the icandy peach 7 to use as a tandem for second baby on way, if your planning on back to back baby’s that are going to have a age gap of less than 18 months, and will still both need to be in prams it may be worth getting a tandem pram just so it’s cheaper in long run once second baby is here rather than having to buy a whole new travel system like I’ve had to😭x

Nuna demi grow Bugaboo donkey are both good tandem prams also, and are perfect to use as a single, both can have added buggy boards also and even If you don’t have back to back children but if the eldest doesn’t really need the seat but just some extra support of having a rest when out on a seated buggy board x

Also car seat wise I got the maxi cosi with the isofix for 0-12 months size then the silver cross birth-12 years all motion 2 with 360 isofix for when baby turnt 6 months as she didn’t really like her normal car seat and was a lot happier in new one x

@Rebecca this is really helpful! Thank you!
