I've just started with finger foods and have been giving her purees and mash. She's struggling with lumps but I'll keep going. She's still drinking 5 bottles a day. I'm not confident with weaning at all tbh
@Alice basically the same here. My little boy has mostly purees and mashed food. He can recently do chunky foods but will sometimes still gag. He still has 5-6 bottles a day. I've recently started offering more off my plate. He loves toast soldiers in a morning, and loves sucking on chips. I recently tried him with chunks of sausage too and he loved that. But I'm really not confident with much of anything else. He hasn't tried any meat strips or anything more chewy yet
Im so glad I'm not the only one! I've recently started introducing more BLW. I feel like my confidence has grown myself and feeling less anxious but still need to try more variety. My baby loves any type of pancake/omelette/fritter and will happily feed himself but as they're quite soft it's easy. I'm still not brave enough to try chunkier bigger pieces of food that aren't soft and mushy. He still has 4 bottles, 7oz each x
Thanks all! I'm in a similar boat as @Lemees atm re. finger food - built my confidence up on pancakes and fritters etc but not sure where to go from here. I've tried toast and she did ok, but meat that isn't mince is where I'm a bit stuck for how to give it or when! Most meals are still varying degrees of mashed with a fork x
Yes I'm the same!! I gave mine toast recently but it got stuck on the roof of his mouth and he panicked and cried and then I panicked because I was absolutely terrified he would inhale it mid cry!! So gave up on that straight away 🤦♀️ need to try jt again. I bought crumpets and wheetabix today to try for breakfast so that'll be tomorrow's attempts!
We didn’t start with BLW, we did purées and the occasional finger food. I’d say it wasn’t until 10.5 months that my little girl decided she was interested in food and she’s now doing a lot better with feeding herself and trying new things x
