Hold baby in fetal positions against your chest and bounce up and down for about 20 min should get most of the gas out and help baby and you get rest and relax
Gas drops and Frida’s Windi worked great for us! Gripe water isn’t really regulated so it isn’t super consistent. We did lots and lots of belly massages but windis did wonders and gas drops were good preventative maintenance! Ps I’m so sorry. I know it is extremely overwhelming and heartbreaking listening to baby cry. I promise it is temporary ♥️
I have a 2 month old and I exclusively breastfeed. And I use Infant’s Mylicon. I did cut out any spices like Garlic, onion, paprika, beans, broccoli, cabbage because I know those cause gas. But those drops are a miracle worker.
… aggressively bounce the baby should put the pressure on tummy the baby is looking for to release the trapped gas also tummy time should help after trying g the massages and the bouncing
Kristina, as I’m reading your message I feel as if I am typing it word for word. I was going through the same thing for nearly a month. It wasn’t getting any better as people were telling me it was. I did soooo much research and this is what I did. I used gripe water I swear by it and also used gas drops. Every night before bed I would bath my baby you don’t have to every night though, give him 5ml of grip water and then wait 30 minutes and feed him a warm bottle. I would give him gas drops through out the day like 2-3 times a day and now thank god he’s doing soooooo much better. I also do tummy time a lot through out the day like 3-5 times a day for about 15-20 minutes. I even let him nap on his tummy of course with my presence around him. It helps him release gas. Also bicycle pedaling and massaging his tummy clockwise helped a lot. Good luck and I hope this helps. By the way my baby is 3 months next week..
Around 10 weeks we were having big issues with gas. We started using Mylicon drops at almost every feed (without exceeding the recommended 12 uses in 24 hours) and I also started doing bicycle legs and a clockwise massage around babies bellybutton at every diaper change. These have helped us so much! We’re now at 13 weeks but it was really rough for a while!
I appreciate all of your responses and anyone who adds further insight! I know age helps this but we really are in the stage where it's been tough weeks already and it feels like it won't end đź’” I really appreciate your tips and reading I'm not alone in this. Thanks again!!
Chocolate is another big factor that people don't think about :) Also, burp your baby a few times through nursing. It helps relieve the gas ss they go :) those are some things that worked for me. I hope this helps a little.
I had the same issue. Cut out dairy and it made SO MUCH of a difference but it takes a while and that sucks. It takes 2 weeks for the cows milk protein to be out of your system and then about another two weeks for it to be out of baby’s system. It made my daughter a totally different baby though and I personally saw changes starting around 2 weeks dairy free. Just know if it is a dairy issue it’s the protein in cows milk not lactose so you can’t just have lactose free things you’ll have to read every label on everything and you’ll be surprised the things that contain dairy. (Taco seasoning surprised me the most) there’s a fb page that helped me a ton I’ll double check what it was called. It’s all intimidating in the beginning but it’s doable
The fb page was Dairy-free diet - Breastfeeding Lots of helpful information
Have you seen an IBCLC for possible latch issues? Colic is a symptom, not a diagnosis. There’s a reason behind it. You could also explore some body work to help with tension. Just be sure to research the provide to make sure they’re qualified to work with infants. Highly highly recommend seeing an IBCLC. A lot of these issues stem from a feeding problem.
