Anyone else feel cat-fished by their in-laws 🤣

we are no contact with my in-laws (hallelujah!!) but yes I can totally emphasise. The first few times I met my mil she acted as if I was wonderful, the daughter she never had. She seem to want to bond with me, had my do her hair and makeup and give outfit advice. She talked to me about deep personal things. Not having that kind of relationship with my own mother I was excited and pleased. But Jesus she’s an amazing actress because as soon as my husband and I started getting serious (moved in together after 4 months) she switched. She would make nasty comments when we were alone. She’d blow cigarette smoke toward me as I ate breakfast when we were alone. She’d remind me he would always love her more. She made inappropriate suggestive comments towards my now husband (yes her own son) she snuck into his room to read and remove a love note I’d left him under his pillow. So fcking bizarre. I could go on and on and on. We got engaged she picked up the pace on the anti me train. Accused me

Apart from the inappropriate comments to her son, you could have been describing my ex MIL. As it turned out, she was very unhinged. One Christmas time, her son hid a roll of wrapping take while he was round her house. He thought this would be funny. She then left a very threatening and disgusting message on my answering machine accusing me of turning her son into a thief (all over the tape that was under a cushion on her settee). She then tried to put my car windows through. We went non contact after that but my ex forgive her when we split. She used to wait until he had gone to the toilet and tell me that she couldn't wait until he came to his senses and left me and got someone else. She was insane
