Potty training while starting daycare
Okay so I really wanna start potty training like i said but since Oliver started daycare today (3 days a week for 3 hours in the morning 8:30-11:30am) I am getting confused how all this is going to work. I heard of the 3 day method where you stay at home for 3-4 days and just let them run naked and put them on the potty every thirty mins and just watch them and reward them etc. and only put diapers for nap time and nighttime. So I plan on doing that BUT the daycare doesn’t help AT ALL with potty training and she told me to just send him there in pull-ups & when he needs to go the kid needs to tell them that he has to go and they take him to the potty. But Oliver doesn’t fully speak yet he just pats his diaper when he has to go poop not with pee yet.
So I guess my main concern is will it hinder him if I potty training at home and after daycare at home but put him in pull-ups at daycare only?
Should I ask them if he can be put in the training underwear and just give them a bunch changes of clothes and just let him go with the underwear?
this is really shitty timing bc I was home with him for almost 2 years now and we had nothing going on and right as he starts day care he’s showing signs to be ready to be potty trained. Just my luck lol.
sorry for the long rant but I would really appreciate any help with these questions or what you guys did as parents having their kids in daycare while potty training if the daycare doesn’t help with it. Thanks so much. 🩵
For me, we have talked with her teachers and told them we are kind of doing it but know we are still a bit off from it. We still have diapers for her there, but I have asked them that if she asks to potty if they will put her on it for a little bit. She doesn't normally initiate asking to potty so I know now it would be few and far between. But we are close to putting her in pull ups to really do potty training and then they will make sure to put her on the potty every so often. I think she knows, she just isn't making the connection very well. She asked to potty Saturday morning, sat on the potty for like a minute and then was over it. Not even 2 min later she is pulling down here pants again asking to potty but this time she has already went lol
