Try prunes in a yoghurt, more water, more fruit and fibre in his diet, fruit such as pears, plums, raspberries, strawberries and vegetables such as celery, cucumber and peas If constipated severely for long time you may need to see GP as may need something to help flush out and laxative

Girl prunes!!! But beware bc he will be literally incapable of holding it in so don’t go too crazy, a little goes a long way. but it will regulate I promise all that stuck poo will be set free and he will be extremely relieved!

@Jenna as above for sure Prunes 👏🙂

I'd recommend a probiotic that has many different strains!

Prunes! Cook them down and puree, have him drink the juice.

@Jess which

My family has tried so many different brands, but we finally landed on this one because it has 25 billion CFU which is the highest of all the brands we've tried! https://us.sfihealth.com/k-tcc-ther-biotic-childrens-chewable-tm If you are looking for a quick fix, these have helped in dire situations (but obviously big picture will need to be looked at!) https://www.bioray.com/products/ndf-pooper This one gives immediate relief, but can be addictive, so saved for a last resort: https://wellements.com/products/organic-baby-move

Just fyi, you can give adult probiotics just open the capsule into food. There’s no reason not to since a tablespoon of home fermented Kefir contains more probiotics than entire packet of probiotics. It’s friendly bacteria, they are not known to cause harm. Also, a tablespoon of coconut oil does the trick. Give in the morning, poo in the evening.

My 2 year old daughter is actually seeing a G.I. specialist for being chronically constipated for like a year. We give her half a cap of Miralax in watered down apple or grape juice once a week. We’ve also started to give her 1 oz of raisins a day as a snack. Both have helped so much. The best way to get probiotics into a toddlers diet is Greek yogurt, and pickles if they like that taste.

@Tay has the mirelax helped? My little guy is 1yr and stains passing very hard stools but he’s very picky and still learning to love/eat solids.

@Abie It helps a ton! I only give 1/2 serving a day for 2 days and it certainly gives her relief. Her G.I. doctor recommended a whole cap every day but I feel more comfortable splitting it up since my daughter is so petite and doesn’t always drink a lot of water. Miralax just draws water to the colon to soften bowel movements making them easier to pass. There’s a type of sugar in raisins that do the same thing.
