Guys I need help. My daughter is born on the 21/12/2021. I want to know when will she start reception.

So my little girl was born on 31/12/21 and she will start September 2026 so I believe it will be the same for you x

You have to apply this September for the following so just make a note of it x

Start doing school visits around Oct/Nov 2025 and the application needs to be in by Jan 2026

They should start Sept 2026, we’ll be the same ☺️ If you’re wanting state school, then I think the deadline for choosing schools is Jan 2026, with open days for schools around sept/oct this year. If you want private school I think you can apply well in advance.

It’s worth checking out the criteria for the schools admission now as some schools for example prioritise those that have attended the local church, so it will be harder to get in. Also worth asking around how good schools are - parent feedback is worth a lot! You can find your local school on the government website - they do it based on a straight line so it might not necessarily be your closest.

Sept 26. 100% Application deadline varies by district but ours is 15/01/2026. We have a low birth year so expect to get 1st or 2nd place from our application. School tours are Sept/oct/nov usually and many are pre-book. Details on school websites or call school Good luck
