Formula question

So my baby is almost 4 weeks and I was told to ensure they are fed 8 feeds within a 24 hour period and no longer than 3 hours between feeds. On the back of the formula tub it mentions feeds of 5-7 within a 24 hour period which would mean longer stints between feeds. Any ideas? I’m so confused.

I think the general rule of thumb, or so I’ve been told is - Every 2-3 hours for breastfed babies, and every 3-4 hours for formula fed.

Ignore what is on the tub, just feed your baby when they want feeding given they are gaining weight and are healthy x

Feed on demand, your baby will know what they need. Ignore the formula tub. I’m feeding my 2 wk old every 4 hours because that’s when he wakes up for feeding. The making sure you feed every 3 hours is when the baby is first born. As long as your baby is over birth weight and the midwife/HV don’t have concerns.
