No straws and nothing too hot for the first week. No smoking / vaping of anything, rinse gently with salt water once a day. Stay on top of the Tylenol.
No straws due to the sucking motion or spitting vigorously. I'd just let the rinse dribble from your mouth. Eat a soft foods diet for about 7-10 days and no strenuous activities for the first few days.
I remember having crazy nerve pain at night time during recovery. Hope all goes well
(1/2) The first week is gonna be a rough recovery from the wisdom teeth removal. And the 2nd week is gonna be a bit too, but better than the first week, tbh. No straws, if you smoke, that may vary, it'll just take longer for the empty sockets to heal. Its just the sucking that'll take out a clot from the socket, that'll result in a dry socket Ya may be very sensitive to all spices, like rosemary is a basic spice, since I had all 4 of mine removed, it was like super spicy and just yeah, sensitivity is gonna take a while to get back to normal. If you like spicy foods, like actually spicy, its gonna be extremely spicy Your body will naturally push out any possible shards of potential teeth left. My dentist had to grab one that wouldn't come out when I tried, cause it was a pretty large piece left behind from the removal There's a curved tipped syringe to help with removing leftover food that'll get stuck in the sockets for a while, and that specific syringe is gonna help remove the food from it, so it can
(2/2) So it can heal and slowly close up overtime I got mine done back in 2023, which should've been taken out since 12 years before If you're able to, ask your dentist if they're able to get that paper for you, cause I think gargling salt water was also supposed to help. But I can't remember all that was on the paper I got But only thing I remember from than, was the amount of relief on my jaw (no more pressure anymore), despite the first rough couple or so weeks of recovery. I was put to sleep, so my body had slight ptsd, cause my neck and body was jolting for a while in my sleep, too...( '^^)... which was kinda annoying when I tried to sleep 😅 My sockets are still tryna heal, too, cause my 4 wisdom teeth were on the larger side, with still having them for so long...
Stick to a soft diet-you don’t want anything getting caught in the socket. No spitting (even when brushing), sucking through a straw, drinking alcohol and smoking (if you have to, use a gauze to cover the area). Take it nice and easy for the next few days (no heavy lifting)
Thank you everybody! I really appreciate it ❤️
No straws for the first few days to a week, you don't want to dislodge your clothes and get dry socket. Liquid/soft foods for the first few days, take your painkillers on schedule, especially if you're feeling pain close to when they're due: it's much easier to stay on top of the pain than to chase the pain/play catch up
