My baby girl has come down with chicken pox yesterday and they are currently still spreading- we are supposed to be flying early hours of Monday morningđŸ˜Ș do you think they would scab over in time? If not has anyone had there money back cancelling holiday for chicken pox?

Unfortunately not, if they are still coming out likely won’t be scabbed for at least 5-7 days minimum and that’s if she was to get now more today x

Unlikely to scab over in time, have you got insurance? I don’t know for certain but I can’t imagine you’ll get your money back, they won’t want to pay out for something that’s not their problem

My daughter is just getting over chickenpox. She had loads of spots. They came out 2 weeks ago tomorrow, she was still getting spots on the Monday and didn't start to scab over til Wed. It is very unlikely she will be completely scabbed over by Monday. Sorry

Thank you ladies, I best get cancellingđŸ€ŠđŸœâ€â™€ïž

I wouldn’t cancel my holiday for my kid having chicken pox no way 😂

Worth speaking to your insurance and checking guidelines for the country you’re intending to visit. Some are very strict. My cousins daughter got chickenpox while they were abroad and had to be quarantined and wasn’t allowed to fly home til all scabbed over 😬 but I’m sure their insurance covered the extra stay and the changing of flights. Might have been different as happened during the holiday and not beforehand.

@Chelsie they’re not allowed to to fly until all spots are scabbed over. In most cases would also require a gp certificate, confirming it is no longer contagious. Other than that, it’s risking everyone elses health you should consider too..

All airlines have different policies, you can fly with fit to fly certificates. Unlikely you’ll get one tomorrow stating it if they aren’t crusted - they may crust by Monday but airlines have right to refuse x

My daughter had really bad chicken pox but they all came out over 48 hours and within 4 days had scabbed over so there’s a chance!
