Reflux help!

My 8 week old son has had reflux. He is gaining weight and the GP isn’t concerned but it disturbs his sleep at night. I am EBF and I feel like we’ve tried everything to ease his reflux. We keep him upright way after his feed, we give him gripe water to help his gas which in turn helps his reflux a little bit It’s difficult even laying him down to change his nappy because he will instantly spit up even if it’s been 2 hours since his feed. Any advice or tips would be really appreciated

I had this experience (baby is breast and formula fed, 7 weeks now). Gripe water didn’t work great and we also tried Ovol drops for instant relief (it was OK). Like you, we keep her up after feeding almost 30 mins and still had some spit up. We had bought a baby moov (sold at toys rus and I believe Amazon too or direct from website) and this helped a bit as it has a slight incline and can fit in bassinet/crib (helpful for night feeds where she needed to go back to sleep after). Also try baby massage movements like pulling the legs in, massaging the tummy downwards - some great examples on YouTube. https://babymoov.ca/products/cosydream-plus We still get some spit up 2 hours after feed but for us it is decreasing - hopeful for you mama!

Reflux is so so hard so you’re doing amazing mumma! We found colic/ gripe water made things worse but if it’s working for you then continue. We sat upright for 30 mins after feeding, pace feeds and burped regularly throughout feeds (though we were bottle feeding so this was easier). We also tilted the next to me slightly on one end. Game changer for us was the cranial osteopath where she was a different baby entirely. And we used in combination with Gaviscon infant xx

We got a script for pepcid at 4 weeks old and it was a LIFE CHANGER

My baby was having the same issue it was frustrating and I felt so bad for my daughter she would always Gag id be scared to leave her alone and never let her sleep in her back .. I was breastfeeding and though maybe it was doming I was eating so I incorporated some formula in her didn’t the yellow can it worked a little but she was still spitting up. I switched to the A.R formula it’s a pink can and she has been doing amazing her poop is a little harder sometimes but she doesn’t spit up and she sleeps way better I burp after every ounce and always keep her a little slanted not completely straight up or flat

Gaviscon infant has helped my little one. Went from choking and spitting up at night to sleeping soundly (still waking up every few hours for feeds). Just would say to keep mindful of the dose to avoid constipation

I did infant gaviscon in 1ounce of expressed milk a day before bed for my daughter. It helped a bit but really what actually helped was when she weaned. As soon as she started solids the reflux stopped

Hi lovely, I'm EBF too. Our boy is 2 weeks & 3 days and has had silent reflux but has gotten worse lately. I've done a lot of research and read it can be an intolerance to dairy so I'm cutting it out (as well as soya) for a few weeks to see if it helps. If it does I'll then introduce small amounts of dairy going forward. It could be worth looking into. I hope that helps x

My little boy has reflux and we ended up in a&e one night after some awful symptoms. He was given gaviscon and he was instantly better - sleeps amazingly at night now too. It’s script only but I could ask ur dr for it. Best of luck x
