baby on 46th centile

I had a scan around 24 weeks pregnant (around 2 weeks ago) and was told my baby was on the 46th centile. is that meaning she’s a normal weight or is she underweight or overweight?

Slightly light. 50 percentile is bang in the middle, under 50 less and over fifty more. Mine is 45 and they said it wasn’t cause for concern. They’re just slightly small.

I think as long as they’re not sitting at one extreme or the other than I wouldn’t worry, especially as measurements are not 100% spot on anyway! Plus plenty of time still for a growth spurt :)

Generally they are concerned about the top and bottom 10%. This doesn’t always mean there’s anything wrong with these babies, just that they like to keep an eye just in case. Your baby seems to be doing well! 46% is nothing to be concerned about, unless your baby starts jumping way up or way down. Example mine went from 40% (at 20 weeks) to 2% (at 37 weeks) - that indicates that the baby isn’t doing well and needs extra monitoring.

Just saw my doctor and she said only below 10 or over 90 is a concern. 👍
