I’m the same. I can’t claim anything else because of my partners income either. So I only get the £187 and child benefit which you apply for after your child is born. Depending on your personal circumstances you might be able to claim more like universal credit and the sure start grant. X
@Lu @Gina due to my partners income, I don’t think I can claim either. Really frustrating 😪
If you work full time and your employer will pay your salary for the first however many weeks/months of mat leave and you provided them with your MATB1 form, does the statutory pay kick in once your employer stops for the remaining weeks? Do you have to notify them or is that done automatically via payroll like it's done with income tax via HMRC?
I get paid 90% of my usual salary for 6 weeks and then it drops to SMP for 33 weeks. This happens automatically.
I’ve applied for the sure start maternity grant but because I’m not on any benefits, I didn’t qualify 🤣🤣🤣 Makes me laugh that when you work full time and don’t claim benefits you don’t get fuck all help from the government and then there’s people who don’t work and they just live off benefits. Disgusting 🙃 obviously if you’ve genuinely got an illness or disability etc then fair enough but so many people cheat the system and people who actually struggle but are honest and hard working don’t get any sort of help

I don’t even get child benefit and only get SMP. We’re just having to save / cut back
If you go on gov.uk website theres a calculator thing that can tell you what benefits you could be entitled too
I’m certain you can claim Maternity grant and UC
