Formula Feeding

For those formula fed baby mums - how many oz / mls are you feeding your baby at 5/6 weeks old and how often? I’m getting so many mixed messages about how much I should be giving him I’m now not sure what’s right! Any advice welcome, thank you!

I would go by the weight of the baby. I think I read its 150ml per kg of your baby, so if your baby weighs 5kg the total feed for the day would be 750ml.

My son is nearly five weeks and he is having about 4oz! Every 2/3 hours

Don’t go off anything other than what your baby is drinking. I only ever used the instructions on the box as the guide and if she was drinking it all I’d offer her 1oz more in the next feed. If he’s spitting up a lot he’s probably having too much so offer 1oz less but you may have to shorten the time between feeds slightly, it really is trial and error as every baby is different. We were up to 6oz 5-6 times a day every 3 hours by 7/8 weeks x

My daughter was doing 4oz, sometimes 6oz at night. But Ped recommended/told me that 4oz was good.

My little girl is 6 weeks and is on 150ml every 3 hours give or take; has one long stretch of around 6 hours in the night. I wouldn’t look any anyone else’s baby, it is literally down to your own baby

my boy is 6w 5d and is on 3-4oz every 3 hours at the moment, about 24oz within 24hrs (7am-7am) xx

Thanks everyone ❤️

My 6w boy is drinking 150ml 8 times a day which is considered more for his age and weight. I tried to lower it but he seems to understand he is missing some mls 😅 but so far he healthy so im happy with it I believe in the end its just down to them every baby has different appetite
