Colic and frustration

My baby has cmpa and a corn allergy but those have been cleared from his diet for months. Hes crying uncontrollably when going to sleep out of the blue acting gassy. I have to be honest sometimes it’s so hard to keep my cool. How do you keep from getting frustrated?? I have a very needy two year old as well who has to wait while I tend to him but some days it’s 4 hours of crying and I’m just tired 😭 and I feel so bad for my poor baby I don’t know how to help him

I'm sorry you're going through this. If baby is in a safe place and you've checked that he doesn't need anything (food, diaper change, etc), it's okay to walk away for a few minutes. It's easier said than done, but it would help me to walk away and have some deep breaths for a few minutes. Noise cancelling headphones are also a huge help.

@Kaylee I have been doing this when I feel like I need to step away, I just feel so guilty when he screams alone. But it’s helpful to know I’m not the only mama who needs to walk away sometimes.

I felt guilty when I had to do it. But you have to remember that he isn't being neglected if you've taken care of all of his needs and his colic is just keeping him sad. And, not to be too dark, but there's a lot more guilt possible if you can't gather yourself and you do something you don't mean to, you know? You clearly love both of your children a lot and you're doing great 💕

My daughter is also allergic to soy - the proteins in soy and dairy are really similar

@Cesca did she have a skin reaction or just fussiness to soy? I reintroduced it because I saw no skin reaction but I’m thinking I may need to cut it again

She only had delayed skin reactions after exposure when she was little, baby acne when she was tiny and then eczema when she was a bit bigger. Had all the other symptoms you mention! Might be worth cutting out to see if it helps? Are you in the CMPA group?
