Mild Polyhydramnios

Has anyone else had growth scans that say they have Mild polyhydramnios. Mine says this because deepest liquor pool is 8.1mm @ 28 weeks. Just a wondering if anyone has experience with it? It wasn’t mentioned at all whilst I was at the growth scan but tbh the person we spoke to afterwards wasn’t that helpful as was just questioning why I was there and said everything is ok. I wish they’d explain things like this whilst with them rather than just saying everything ok and giving a report with some things that don’t seem 💯 normal.

I had this in my first pregnancy. They sent me for additional scans but it resolved itself over a few weeks. They did explain what would happen if it worsened, but I think it very often just resolves itself and doesn’t result in any further steps being required.

@Beth thank you! I see the consultant on 16th so will mention it to them to see if it can be checked again.

@Beth hi what do I expect to happen if it worsens as I’ve not had an appointment with my consultant yet and the amniotic fluid is measuring 10.3cm only mild but I don’t know much about this x

@Katie mine got worse before it got better, and they gave me regular scans. If it becomes severe, which is rare, I think they send you for a specialist scan, but otherwise they told me they would just need to check baby’s airways/ability to swallow when they’re born. But after a couple of scans every couple of weeks, it resolved itself and never caused any issues.

@Beth that’s really reassuring thank you🥹I have a scan next Thursday to check the water x

@Katie hope it goes well! I was very worried first time around, but all the worry was unnecessary in the end!
