Formula Feeding, Colic ?

Not sure if someone can help me or give me advice. I have a 6 week old baby. The past two days when she has been feeding. She’s been very fussy and pushing the bottle away even when she is starving. It’s as if she’s trying to feed but unable to , due to a sore tummy it seems. When she gets put down flat or during and after she just screams. She has been screaming most of today even after a couple of hours of feeding. Won’t settle at all and when she gets a dummy put in she’s sucking loads as if she’s starving again even when she’s just been fed. She winds fine and pooing as normal too. Been doing all the obvious things that should help when feeding.

My little girl was the exact same at that age, turned out she had cmpa!! Xx

What fomula are you using? My 4th was like this she has silent reflux and is lactose no fomula settled her tummy except for soy fomula has been heavily since she still arches her back and what not during feeds but after she's not uncontrollably crying and screaming in pain anymore! Took from end of January to now to get that resolved shes getting a swoll study done to see why she's still sounding congested trying to see if the acid is trying to get in her lungs or not hope this helps somewhat

I don't have any advice but here to say my 8 week old did this for a whole week and it was so hard but then she went back to normal at about 7.5 weeks not sure what it was but we used gripe water or infacol before each feed which seemed to help.

Enfamil Nutrimegen worked out for me and mine. Again, those formulas now are a bit more expensive cause of it cmpa my daughter could only drink Nutrimegen she couldn't drink the similac Anthenium though

Nutramigen was a life saver for all 3 of my colicky babies! Also my daughter had to be on reflux meds and that helped a bunch, id talk to your pediatrician about it maybe it’s something they’ll decide to prescribe

If they haven't been already have them checked for a tongue tie! My little guy was taking on loads of air due to his and it was missed until 7 weeks. He was a different baby after it was sorted

Same here had to get her some medicine for it and change to her hypoallergenic formula

I would definitely speak to HV or doctor for advice. If it is colic then I used some drops with my daughter that were amazing. I will get the name and message you. I bought them from boots and they are drops that you put in the formula

I think you’re in the UK, so if so, you should be able get CMPA formula on prescription if you take her to doctors and they think they’d like to trial that with her! X
