I have massively irregular cycles, I have been in and out of the doctors for it since before my son. Finally a doctor took me seriously and sent me for bloods and an ultrasound. They said my hormones are fine but the ultrasound showed cysts on my ovaries. I cycle track and use ovulation tests, but I am really struggling with knowing when my peak is as a lot of the time I never get a deep line. I had this same issue before having my son when we were trying for him. It took us almost a year of TTC to have him and it was heartbreaking every month getting negatives! It’s just so frustrating! Xx
Are they wanting you to try again for 1 year or will you get referred straight away? How did you conceive with your son if I can ask? Was it with clomide? How irregular are ur cycles? See I have the opposite, my hormones are all whacked out since giving birth so I’m trying to get my testestrone down! Do u have any clues on how I can do that?? How often are your periods would u say? Xx
Just so you know I was diagnosed at about 13/14 and we have been through years of fertility treatment. You cannot track your ovulation with LH strips etc when you have pcos all fertility doctors would advise against it. Your best bet is to go through the GP to the fertility consultants they will only see you after 12 months of trying and you have to also both have tests done before (this is U.K.) x
@Francesca my doctors said that because we have already had a little boy they won’t help us fertility-wise, only with talking support (I am UK based) zx
If your U.K. of course they will! Keep pushing and fighting against it, I had my first son through fertility currently pregnant with my second through fertility. A friend had 2 kids naturally and had the 3rd through fertility x
@Francesca I’ll try get back in contact with my doctors as that was what they told me. They said that because we managed to get pregnant naturally once already, clearly it can happen for us so fertility won’t help us and will only offer talking support 🥴🤷♀️ xx
That’s rubbish, I use to work in fertility at the local hospital so know bits about it and we also did 6 years of it ourselves! Always ask for a second opinion if in doubt x
@Jade my cycles range anywhere from 29 days to 70 days, honestly I’m not sure what the doctors are expecting me to do as they haven’t been a lot of help! They gave me the diagnosis and told me that because I have already managed to conceive naturally fertility wont help me 🤷♀️ xx
I’ve read that Metformin has helped numerous women with their fertility issues x thinking to give it a crack for myself
Well that’s silly they said that! I would defo push for fertility treatments! See if u can get put on things! If not find a different doctor xx
@Francesca ah if you worked in fertility would my testerone come down if I take zinc?
How did they diagnose you with pcos? Cause I might have but apparently you only need 2/3 to have it? Do u have LH strips? BBT? I downloaded premom and it’s a god send! I don’t BBT cause I find it hard but I do LH testing xx
