@Adriana thank you so much!!
@Amber of course! I’m really trying to get through this labor without an epidural this time so I’ve been looking at resources like crazy I was going to get a doula because they are covered with the insurance I have but all of them have already been booked so as much research as I can do before baby comes in June!
@Adriana so smart!! I did my first birth without an epidural, but I remember wishing I had done a bit more mental work to get through it. I think having done it once before will be helpful, but also adding some more mental toughness to my arsenal will help I think
@Amber I got to 8cm my last one but I had too many people in my ear telling me to get the epidural and I didn’t mentally prepare either so I’m trying to do the most this time around I’m also hoping I won’t have to get induced like my last and have her just come natural cause I’ve read the inducing can make the process worse since your body wasn’t naturally ready to give birth yet. What did you do for your first birth? How did you get through it? I love to hear what moms use or did through their labor to get ideas on what I could use as well
@Adriana I got to about there as well with my daughter and then I needed nitros. That's all I used for pain management. I feel like had I prepared better I would've been able to make it all the way to the end without the nitros, but I had been in labor for 16 hours with no meds and hadn't really had much to eat or drink 😅🙃🫠 then I threw up what I did actually eat, so I was utterly exhausted. I think, knowing what I know now, I'll for sure be eating more through labor and focus on more mental affirmations to help me get through it!
@Amber oh yeah I asked about eating too and ate an early lunch I was at the hospital since the night before I was starving I wouldn’t have eaten for a day had I not! Luckily I just got nauseous and didn’t throw it up 😅 But yes I’m trying to prepare mentally as much as I can for this one!
@Adriana Oh, yeah. I'll for sure be snacking all day lol I also got some new noise-cancelling headphones to listen to music or hypnobirthing tracks to keep focused
