Milton destroyed my hands

Help! Milton cold sterilising tablets for the last year have destroyed my hands. What on earth can I do to get them back to normal looking hands? Normal hand creams don’t work! Got builder hands 😭😂

We started using tongues to get things out of the sterilising bucket and then shaking them off. That way we didn’t have to fully submerge our hands. Made a big difference for our skin!

Wear marigolds when handling things like Milton. It’s damaged your skin and will take a while to heal. You need intensive hand creams to regenerate healthy skin x

Can you not access the liquid Milton? Would do as above suggests, get some gloves! This looks so uncomfortable! Coconut oil will take the edge off but will need consistent reapplication.

I use tongs or tip the water out completely out of my cold water steriliser. Definitely wear gloves as well as it is bleach at the end of the day. I have also switched from using the tablets and liquid to using the Milton soap instead x

For your hands, combo of Vaseline petroleum jelly and Nivea cream (the blue bottle) - do it always during the day and at night before you sleep. Hands will go back to being a baby

Try nursem cream It saved my hands when working on NICU and paediatric units as you wash your hands so much they dry out

Okeefes working hands

I have the same & have found the Bodyshop Hemp hand cream does wonders x

@Julia the Milton soap isn't a replacement for the liquid or tablets, what do you use it for? Just washing the bottles first?

Here’s me wondering why my hands are so dry🤷🏼‍♀️😂 Now I’ve figured it out, thank you 😂x

I feel like this is a compliant that could be taken to the company itself. I also recommend the o’keefee hand cream it works wonders

@Charley I never said it was am just saying that I’ve switched to it as we no longer use formula so I was my daughters bottles and dishes/cutlery with it. OP never stated the age of her child so I suggested it as an alternative to using the Milton soap and tablets

@Julia the Milton soap is just washing up liquid so not really an alternative to tablets or sterilising.

@Charley I am well aware.

You could try a gentle exfoliate one a week. I make my own I use a lil sugar with baby oil or store bought is just fine too then a good moisturiser hope that helps 😊
