Tummy time

Hey guys how are we doing tummy time with reflux babies, who spit up after feeds, have to be held for an hour almost. Im finding it really difficult to incorporate the tummy time.

will doctors not prescribe any infant gaviscon or omeprazole xx

I’m in the same boat, but I’ve realised I need to get over my anxiety of him sicking up often and if he does it’s one of those things. I get him on his play mat once a day to do it, so not as often as recommended but it’s better than nothing. Try and incorporate it into when you hold your baby upright after a feed as well. Have them on your chest and pop their arms under their shoulders so they are leaning on their forearms, this is our favourite way of doing tummy time with minimal sick up! My little one does this by himself now as we’ve done it so many times and he loves having a look about after a feed!

My daughter hates tummy time, so we do it after every feed where she uses her arms to hold herself up when I place her over my shoulder to burp. Her neck/head control at 3 months is amazing

Same here, I try to do it just before his next feeds due but it does limit how much he does.

Just go for it! I’d wait around 30 mins after a feed, tummy time is super beneficial for reflux babies as it helps them get out all their trapped air. My little one has always had spit up during but we have a wipe able mat for tummy time. Also don’t stress cos my little one hated tummy time for ages and then with a bit of consistency he started loving it and can now roll back to front! You’re doing amazing keep at it xxx

My baby is very sicky, he’s breast fed and sometimes feeds every hour. I tend to do tummy time about 30-45 minutes post feed and when he’s nice and alert

I’ve recently started trying wake, play, feed, sleep instead of the feed first so that I can get her on the play Mat - if not she’s just sick and aggy. Seems to be working okay at the moment but sometimes she won’t go very long before she wants a feed x

Honestly, I just ordered a massive wipeable playmat and have muslins and baby wipes to hand and accepted tummy time just comes with a bit of mess x
