i’d lose it
Ask him to explain as much as he can next day Im getting a meeting with the principal and teacher no matter what tho!!
Calmly. See how much detail you can get from kid first. "Hit" can mean a lot of things in kid lingo. In our case I'd go to the teacher directly first for their side before deciding whether to involve administration, but that depends a lot on your relationship with and impression of the teacher.
I can sit here and lie and say I’d be calm but tbh I’d probably be livid at first before I collect my thoughts and the facts.
Ask your child to show you what they did. Collect as much information as possible
Yes id definitely get all the details before calling or going to speak to anyone. And when asking for my kid to explain id try to keep my face and tone as neutral as possible and ask open ended questions, not anything leading cuz i recently ran into a similar problem where my daughter told me the teacher made all the kindergartners do wall sits as punishment for being loud and not listening. I flipped out a little and it turns out the teacher literally had just led them outside and they were just sitting regularly on this mini rock wall taking in the fresh air and listening, not doing wall sits😂
Do all this but record it all too on video with audio document as much as possible. I’m so so sorry about this unacceptable situation.
Similar to Beth Dutton from *Yellowstone*, I handle emotional regulation for my three toddlers and my grown husband every day. So, once I’ve gathered all the facts and know my child is telling the truth about being mistreated—whether it’s by family or school staff—I turn into full Mama Bear mode to make it clear that neither the situation nor my child will be overlooked or brushed aside so just give me a reason to lose my cool.
@Leslie it happened to me, I asked him to describe me how it happened and where did she hit him. The reason I kept asking him to be more specific is cause he’s loved his tea her since the beginning so I was surprised, but by talking to him and the teacher I ended up figuring out that she hadn’t hit him, she grabbed his hand to pick him up cause he was throwing a tantrum and was going ti hit the floor. So I’d say ask him more questions about it so you can get the details of what happened, but always reassure him that you believe him.
We ride at dawn 🐎 Hot delivery for some teacher whoop @££ (I’m playing yall) 😂😂
@Autumn "wall sits" 😅 Why are they so dramatic? lol
@Audrey right lmfao, I’m so happy I talked to one of the teachers there I trusted and asked her what the heck was going on with this other teacher before going to the admin and making accusations cuz I would’ve looked like an idiot 😂 I really hope it’s a similar situation with this post, and if it’s not, I hope that teacher gets every bit of hell reigned down on them that they deserve lol
I would ask them to show me what happened. Today my son almost ran in front of a car. I tried to grab him & he fell and skinned his knee. He acted like I had purposely thrown him on the floor.
I agree with most the responses. Definitely ask him calmly to explain exactly what happened or recreate it while recording audio maybe, talk to the teacher and principal if necessary.

Ask him to explain the situation, do NOT asking leading questions. Simply ask along the lines of “can you tell me what happened?” Not “where did the teacher hit you, which teacher hit you, etc” We learned that from our pediatrician.
Thank you so much y’all I really appreciate the comments and the opinions about it , I was freaking out without knowing how to react . 😭
@Leslie Update? I’ve been thinking of you 🫂
@Em hi yes! So I talking more with my baby during the day, and he comes with more details, like “the teacher was mad, she do this and that” so I was more concerned about it , but even that , I was not going to say more about it to the teacher or the principal of the school, so anyway, next day of that happen my son didn’t come to school because he have an appointment on the dentist, so TODAY, (the incident happened on Tuesday ) I went to pick up my son and THE PRINCPAL was waiting for me to talk to me , for surprise to no one the teacher went to talk with the principal and says I accused her , and I talk to her badly (all I did says , my son are saying this , said something happen “) so in somehow I became involved in a situación I have to APOLOGIZE WITH THE TEACHER
@Leslie omg im sorry what in the world???? 😭 did you explain to the principle?? St that point id want to just pull my kid out of there lol
@Autumn yes I did and I talk to the teacher both of them and she crying in front of the principal and it was just unreal what happen! And I told them over and over I have to ask is my son and I have to protect him ! Period!
Oh wow. I understand the teacher being concerned and wanting to be proactive with the principal being aware because parents do sometimes blow things out of proportion, but crying and needing an apology?? She sounds emotional and dramatic, I'd just be glad the school year is almost over. Sorry you had to deal with that, but you did the right thing standing up for your kiddo and not just brushing it off. Even if it didn't happen like he says, you've communicated to him that you'll take him seriously even if you don't rush to judgment and taking his side, and I think that's important.
@Audrey yea 100% regardless how that the things goes that day, they now know I’ll not shut up , I’ll speak up for my son and look for an explanation 😤
Ask questions When my daughter finally told me and her dad that a teacher at her old daycare was hitting her and that’s why she was giving us a hard time going we would ask her a question let her answer it then move on to another question after that we asked her the first question again but in a different way to see if she would change her story we also repeated stuff but mixed it up (like where in the room it happened) to see if she would correct us. After talking with her for about a hour or so we went to the daycare and found out in fact the teacher was hitting her. She got removed from the daycare immediately and the teacher ended up losing her license
Ask him to explain the situation and then once you have the details, go to the principal.
