Cows milk allergy?

Sorry for the graphic photo but I am battling a baby who does not stop crying after a feed, he’s like a little worm wriggling around and non stop crying. He’s uncomfortable for ages. The doctor said silent reflux initially but it doesn’t seem to be getting better with meds. He’s 3 1/2 weeks and we’ve been battling him after feeds since he was about 1 week. He’s fed breast milk, from a bottle, pace fed from a 0 mam teat, burped around every 30ml he drinks and he has bottles now around 120ml. We keep him upright after a feed for as long as possible (which becomes really hard in the night with tiredness) Would this poo be indicative of a cows milk allergy? I’m considering eliminating dairy from my diet to see if it helps. His poo’d aren’t as frequent now, used to poo every feed but hasn’t done that for the last few days, I’d say it’s every 1 in 3 feeds now. We’ve tried baby gaviscon and that constipated him, he’s on omeprazole now and has been for 9 days. I have spent today sobbing that I’m just an awful mum, I hate to see my baby so uncomfortable and not be able to help him. The cry is piercing, sometimes continually sometimes I can settle him for 10 minutes and then he starts again.

Hey, was like this with my first daughter. Started around 3 weeks of age. She also had some pimples on her face. By 6th week she started having exploitive diarrea and blood in her stool. Went to NHS they absolutely dismissed us then went private and doctor told to eliminate ALL allergens (dairy including eggs, nuts, gluten, soya, sesame) from my diet, also eliminate beef, chicken, all fruit apart from banana, for 2 weeks. Baby was significantly better within a week. Then after 2 weeks I could start including some fruits. Then meats. But was on dairy, gluten and soya free diet for like 4 months.

That is a normal poo for a baby drinking breast milk, my health visitor described them as “seedy”, my 18 month old and my newborn both had this consistency. Not saying it isn’t an allergy as all the other things you describe could be signs of an allergy but the poo is normal x

That looks very normal for a breastfed baby poop. My first son has CMPA and his stools were extremely mucousy….. he also screamed bloody murder for 12 hours straight. It was sooo exhausting. It took me over 2 weeks to figure out what was going on, he also got put on omeprazole for reflux and we sent in a stool sample that confirmed CMPA and inability to break down dairy. I wasn’t willing to listen to the cries for 2 more weeks so i switched to soy formula and all of my problems were fixed. I believe the dairy takes about 2 weeks to get out of your system and stop transferring to baby so it won’t be an immediate relief if you do change your diet so that is something to consider

The windi saved my life, i was hesitant to use it at first but but it was the only way my baby was able to get out trapped gas

How often is he feeding? I mean all babies are different but 120ml seems a little much for a 3 week old. Mine might not eat as much cause he’s 6 weeks eating 105ml

That doesn't look like an allergy poop to me 😊

That’s how my EBF baby’s looks and I don’t drink cows milk.

My mom tells me stories about me. I’m quite lactose intolerant now as an adult but when I was a newborn I was the exact same way you describe your babe and I ended up being allergic to my mom’s breast milk. As soon as they started formula feeding me I turned into a completely different baby.

that is a normal poo for a breastfed baby
