@Madelyn omg! That's a great idea!! My LG is a foodie, gona give this try. Thank yooou, will see if my partner is game & willing to help me out haha 😂💜
My daughter is the exact same way!! The past few times, my husband or I have put our bathing suits on and gotten into the bath with her. Sometimes she’ll want to put her bathing suit on too! As she is playing, we will slowly and gently start getting her hair wet with our hands or a washcloth. And then shampoo it very gently and just keep telling her - see how gentle it is?! We will also have her put a dry washcloth over her eyes to not get water in her eyes and she’ll peek out and play peek a boo, which she thinks is fun. Sometimes we tell her one of her bath toys needs their hair washed too while she is getting hers washed and that preoccupies her. She has been ok with that! I hope that helps! We’ve also given her a lollipop or some kind of treat afterwards and even while she was getting it washed (we were desperate lol). But it does often take both my husband and I!
I lay my girl down with head in Bath then gentle swoops to wet hair put shampoo on her hands she washes with help from me then again lay down to rinse done this with all 3 of mine only ever had issues when I've over lathered and had to use shower.
@Mallory @Kerry thank you ladies.. I'll see if I can find a toy with hair so she can wash its hair too. It's so funny cuz I LOVE having my hair washed & cuz she hates it so much, I find myself hastily scrubbing & pouring water on her hair as to get it over with quickly so it's definitely not a relaxing experience for her. I just hope she doesn't grow up hating it 🥹😭
I don't have any tips for changing it now but if you ever have another kid, try getting them used to having water on their head/face very early! We wanted to start baby swim classes at 3 months and he needed to be comfortable in the water to be able to learn so I've been dumping water over his head/face since 4 weeks old. Hes now 5 months and doesn't even react to having water on his head/face or even having his ears in the water. It has made bathtime a million times easier. My best friend has a kiddo just a few months older than mine and she was always very careful not to get water on his face and how hair washing & swim classes are nightmares because he is super touchy about anything on or near his face. I hope you get some good suggestions!
I found these dolls on Amazon that are machine washable and can go in bath! They don’t have actual “hair” but my daughter still likes to pretend to wash their hair! https://a.co/d/bBVaDpY
We have a bath seat that can be put flat in the bath tub and I lay my daughter on it, and wash her hair with hand shower. No water goes in the eyes.
I just use my hands to protect their face by holding their head back at the top, then they don’t get water in their face, we make a game of the shampoo as well and pretend it’s a bird pooping on his head 😂 We also take him swimming which helps x
Omg my daughter is the same way ugh lol
Thank you ladies 😊 I'll see what I can achieve for the next hair wash day. Fingers crossed 🤞🏾
I don’t know if this is considered OK or not, but Hair wash days in our house means she gets a popsicle😂 and unfortunately it’s a two person job. My husband will hold the popsicle making my daughter look up to eat said popsicle while I quickly rinse her hair off.. she doesn’t seem to mind the actual scrubbing or massaging of her scalp. More of the rinsing off is what gets her. But since we have started doing the popsicle trick, she’s a lot less fussy and isn’t trying to run away from us. Idk if we have started a bad trend but I make her popsicles out of smoothies so they’re not full sugar or anything.
