SAHM’s of multiple kids: do your husband’s help with kids dr appts?

For context, I am almost 4 weeks postpartum with our second and our first spiked a fever of 103 during his nap. I am hesitant to bring our 3 week old to urgent care and my husband asked to take off 2 hours early from work to bring our son in. His boss told him “it doesn’t even sound like your son is sick and 103 is not even considered a fever” (???) and told him he could not leave early. Are my postpartum hormones raging or is this ridiculous?

I only have one 7 year old, and I've handled every fever and cold since she was born. At this point, I can start teaching my daughter how to check her own temperature, and we have always discussed symptoms and concerns since she could communicate them. 103 is also a very high fever. You should take that baby in right away.

Oh I see now I'm sorry. I don't know how old the oldest is but if you can't get the fever down with usual methods, tylenol, motrin, cool rags, etc, you should take them in. 103 is still high though, could it be flu?

Yes that’s ridiculous! Anything above 100.4 is a high fever and his work shouldn’t have commented on if your child was sick or not, that person is not a dr…. How dare that person … nonetheless anything concerning your children should be important

Yes, but that’s mainly because I don’t often drive. His boss sounds like a jerk. My hubby is buddies with his supervisors, so they are pretty lenient with him, thank goodness. I’m sorry y’all are dealing with that. I hope little man feels better!
