Housing when divorcing

I am planning to divorce my partner but I don't want to move out with the kids as I am the primary caregiver and I don't want to uproot them. My partner won't leave the house without a court order. I know when I drop the bomb on him with the papers he is gonna be pissed and I don't want to live in the same house with him. Will I get to stay here with the kids? We own the house. He pays for most of the bills though I do bring in money with my side business but it's a fraction of what he makes. Any advice? I want it to be smooth but is that wishful thinking?

Damn no response?

It will probably be hard but there’s a chance you can keep the house. A lawyer would be most qualified to give you advice. Just know that even if it seems impossible, the next phase will come, and even if you do lose the house, the next and better phase will come where you don’t have to be together anymore. It’s hard to, I’m so sorry.
