HELP! Baby gas at night

My 16 day old LG is struggling at night with passing farts/poop. The last few nights she has been writhing around kicking and fussing so much and I am not sure what to do to help her more than I am - any tips appreciated!! She is exclusively breastfed (I think i have a fast flow so try to take her off and burp her before going back for more). Been using infacol the last couple of days. I feed her in a hybrid of cross cradle/upright (she didn't love true upright so we compromised). After every feed we do upright pats/strokes on her back, straighten her spine, elevated hip wiggles and bicycles but rarely hear any burps. When she is having her night issues I rub her belly which will settle her for half hour, but she still has her umbilical cord so it's a bit tricky What else should I try?

Is it stupid that I’m excited at answering this question?!🫣😂 I was in the exact same boat with my little one (now 16wks and an absolute pro at burping and farting by himself) to the point where I felt I was failing him❤️‍🩹 I found that as his stomach got bigger, he needed burping (8wks ish) but before that, I would try everything and barely get a burp. I also exclusively breastfeed and have a fast flow and tried switching feeding positions. There are a few methods I use to relieve baby boy from gas in general, hopefully something I’ve mentioned will work for you because it’s horrible seeing your baby in so much pain ❤️‍🩹 -holding under the chin (the same way you would if she’s sat forwards on your lap while patting her back), lift her up with your other hand supporting her bottom and wiggle her bottom/ hips. -kissing/blowing/tickling her feet to encourage her to kick out. -tickling the sides of her tummy to encourage her to bring her knees to her chest. -bouncing on the knee 🩵🩵🩵

@Zenisha thank you! We do the hip wiggles but will try everything else! Good to know burping gets easier as they get bigger too!!

hmm, have you tried a warm bath or tummy time? sometimes that helps get things moving a bit! Just looked it up on the 'Heal Baby Care App' and here's what it says: "It sounds like you're doing a great job trying to comfort your little one. Since she's exclusively breastfed, ensure you're also watching your diet, as certain foods can affect your milk and potentially cause gas in babies. You might consider trying gentle tummy massages in a clockwise direction, which can help with digestion, and using a warm compress on her belly to soothe discomfort. Additionally, you could try holding her in a "colic hold" (face down on your forearm) to help relieve gas. If her fussiness continues or worsens, it might be worth discussing with a healthcare professional for further guidance.

Try and massage the feet .
