Fussing on bottle

My 8 week old has been so fussy on the bottle the last couple of days. He keeps pushing it away and not drinking as much. I don’t know if it’s reflux or he needs to go up a teet size. He has always been a bit of a difficult baby to feed since birth. He’s not particularly crying but just seems uncomfortable. He has been given gaviscon but it didn’t do much so I’ve got another appointment today, so I’m going to bring it up there. But any advice or has anyone gone through the same thing?

This was our issue and he slowly developed symptoms of CMPA. Any other symptoms? Excess wind, rash, wheezing, coughing? Symptoms can be a quick or delayed onset xx

@Beth you know what, I’ve suspected for a while that might be the case. He’s extremely gassy, I can hear his belly going constantly. He’s always been a very wheezy baby since he was born and it’s never gotten worse as such but wouldn’t say it’s better. He’s also refluxy and has had mucousy poos but hasn’t got a rash. He did have a rash around week 2/3 but it cleared up within a week so think that was baby acne. He’s a little fussy too but has never cried for hours on end. So I’m going to bring it up to the dr today and see what they say x

@Sarah aww bless him. He doesn't have to have all the symptoms to have CMPA. I knew in my heart my baby had it from 3 weeks old, he only had reflux, but wasn't taken seriously until 3 months and the other symptoms developed and it was just soul destroying on him and us. My best friends don't diagnosed until 8 months and he only had bad wind and wouldn't sleep, no rash nothing. GP's needs to do better in knowledge and understanding. We had to turn up to a&e to be taken seriously. I'd advise you to do as much research as possible and if you do think it's that, go with the evidence and push for a paediatric referral. Everything crossed for you xx

hmm, that sounds tough, maybe he's just going through a phase or something, but definitely good to bring it up at your appointment! here's what the 'Heal Baby Care App' says.... "It sounds like you're going through a challenging time with your baby's feeding. It's possible that he may be experiencing discomfort from reflux, or he might indeed need a different nipple size if he's struggling to get enough milk. Observing how he reacts when you try a faster flow nipple could help determine if that's the issue. Since you have an appointment today, it’s a great opportunity to discuss these concerns with your healthcare provider. Have you noticed any specific patterns in his fussiness, like certain times of day or after specific feedings?
