I would take the cash for the same reasons you listed
My two cents would be that it would be pointless to go if you’ll be worried the entire time 🤷♀️ for me personally it wouldn’t be a vacation if I were unable to relax. If you can take the cash value instead, thats what I would do. We’re a two under two family and we have a blast at the Margaritaville resorts. The one in Orlando is super kid friendly! We usually rent one of their condos which has a private pool, then theres also a huge pool and a splash pad. You can stroller walk around the condos in the morning. And restaurants/bars are in walking distance. I swear I don’t work for them. 😂 But dang, they have it figured out.
@Tori how much do you spend on that trip? I was thinking of doing that for our anniversary next year
@Mohannahas we usually wait until there is a good coupon for a condo. Theres one out right now, 20% off nightly stay and a $50 resort credit.

I’m a sahm so I would definitely go lol. But my mom has watched my kids before so she’s used to it. Whatever hotel you’re at you can call and coordinate pick up from the airport. If you’re worried about what’s going on over there I would just stay in the hotel or have the hotel arrange you to go places and pick you up. But also if you’re super worried about your kid then I wouldn’t go.
Thank you everyone. I think my biggest thing was validation that I’m not crazy. Even my MIL agrees with me and said whatever I choose she is ok with. Apparently there is no monetary exchange so he started booking things 😭. He keeps telling me that I need a break. I told him it’s not a break if I’m worried 😵💫
Since there is no cash value, I’d go. I’d actually check with the prize hotel separately to see if your son could go. Mexico is so child friendly so unless it’s an adults only place, it probably is fine. I’d hire a babysitter for a day or two to give my MIL a hand some of those days.
I mean, depending on where you live four days in Mexico does not sound like enough, especially where two of them are going to be spent traveling. That just sounds tiring to be honest. If it were me and I was able to take the cash, I would do that and go somewhere where I could bring my child.
