just cut it. i’m shocked he made it to 4 with no real haircut!! my son loves getting his hair cut with his dad :)
@Mariah he is speech delayed and cannot tell me
@Annie he has sensory issues and is speech delayed, but I tried to cut it and it’s awful so we have to get it fixed
the more you take him the better it will be!! my best friends son has autism and it was like pulling teeth for the first months but he can actually go and sit still now. he has a thing abt his head being touched and HATES IT but exposure is definitely the best thing for him!!

So it was a sensory hair cut (no one else in salon, he was able to move around freely and she followed his lead) no tears, he didn’t love it but it wasn’t awful!!! The cut turned out well too 😊 thank you all xx

My son is 2 1/2 speech delayed cannot sit still and also has sensory issues. I too messed his hair trying to cut it myself. Howd you go about searching for a place that accommodated him?
@Emily I asked a few local mom groups I was in for a recommendation that suited my guys needs. I double checked all the reviews and picked the one with the best reviews! I guess we were just lucky to have someone who sort of sets the tone and space. If you can’t find a place like that, maybe ask a local mom group if there is someone who does home visits! That was also a good suggestion I looked into
He’ll prob find another way to self soothe if you do cut it. But I would ask him what he wants, he’s old enough to know if he wants it cut or not.
