Everything I read up on it with my first born says that they can increase anxiety or give false sense of security. I opted not to get one
Most pediatric nurses and doctors will advise against them. They are not a medical device. They will either increase your anxiety checking constantly, or you could potentially give yourself a false sense of security if the readings seem fine, and miss a true emergency. I'd save your money.
I ended up sleeping with my phone on all night and it to my face till my fiancé told me that’s why I wasn’t sleeping well 🫠 it took a bit of adjustment but I ended up just having it where I could hear her. I don’t recommend it as it connects to Wi-Fi. Everytime my wifi went off it went off and it just gave me anxiety and chaos that I bought a separate sound monitor that plugs in (no wifi needed) to hear her 🤷♀️ The sock constantly went off and was uncomfy for my baby when I put it on her. She ended up kicking it off constantly through the night so I gave up on it even tho it was nice to have it just wasn’t worth the fuss 🫠 The only thing I really like of it now with a toddler is the room temp reading (camera wise!) and my toddler likes to talk to herself through it lol
My favorite of all time was the ones that clip on the diaper to monitor breathing but once they start rolling it defeats the purpose
I was bought one as a gift by my mum as my baby was a preemie and spent 4 weeks in the NICU so I was desperate for one as the sats monitors in the hospital gave me such peace of mind, I wanted that at home too. But fast forward to baby coming home, her feet were far to small for the sock, and she screamed bloody murder when I was trying to put it on so I ended up leaving it for the first couple of nights thinking I’d try again in a few days. By this point, I had realised that my anxiety was no where near as bad as I had thought it would be, so I then didn’t want to start using it and potentially increase that anxiety again. Luckily my mum was able to return it, but I’d really recommend at least trying the first couple of days without and just seeing where your anxiety level sits before committing to it! X
I use it on my baby and it gives me a peace of mind! I can sleep comfortably knowing shes okay
I looked into it as an option and decided to do the Nanit monitor instead
I like it and have used it with 3 kids. It hasn’t increased my anxiety. It still works without WIFI you just can’t see the monitor on your phone but the base will still sound if there is a problem.
I wouldn’t suggest getting one. You’ll just end up sitting there checking it constantly and this is coming from a mom who had to bring home hospital grade monitors and oxygen for my NICU baby
It helps with my anxiety actually, i sleep better a night and I don’t wake up to see if baby is breathing 😅 in the beginning you will check constantly but then you will get used to it and won’t check that much. It’s also good for me because baby sleeps in our bed so is good to have extra monitoring
I'm the same 😀 i have seen a few on marketplace. I put it on my registry and it could be a pool of ppl putting money towards
