putting baby in the front seat. thoughts?

@Lexi in the us in other places it is fine as long as you turn off the airbags . The first time I saw a post about it I was confused too but I looked it up and that’s what I found out very interesting to see different countries do things I’ve been especially fascinated with birthing in other countries!

How does she fit 4 in the backseat? 😗 legally they all need boosters/car seats still… if it’s a van you could be able to fit 5… but seeing as baby is in front I assume not a mini van… Otherwise I could never I can’t imagine driving myself and all the kids and partner driving separately because we can’t all fit in one vehicle. I’d loose my marbles in that car personally. I have a mini van that fits 5 in the back seats and I can’t imagine filling them. I’m good with 3-4 💀 I just love the extra room it gives.

It may sound strange, but what if you offered to help go places with her & her kids? You could secure the car seat in your vehicle safely & she wouldn’t be endangering her baby or breaking any laws. How often is she going places with them?

If the baby is put safely in the front seat then they have room. Your said you weren't passing judgement but frankly your post is giving judgmental. Sounds US based, like what do you guys want, safe affordable abortion for all, or not? You can't be against that but also judge a mum with lots of kids.

It’s more concerning that there are four kids in the back that probably don’t have car seats than the baby at the front. Unfortunately accidental pregnancies happen and maybe she can’t afford a car for all of them and has no other way of getting food or getting them to school rightly or wrongly.

@Bella 'how people can have more babies knowing they literally don't have the space'... OK so you get pregnant, you don't have space... what do you do. Have baby get judged, have abortion... oh yeah you barely can in the US.

@Karen I have 3 kids, all under 4 and when you look st my car you'd assume I must have one of them in a not safe for their age car seat.... but actually there is 3 full seats across the back. I used every penny of savings to get that car as it was the cheapest I could find when I found out I was pregnant with twins. Half the problems on this app is all the assumptions people make about others parenting and situation.

@Mou you brought abortion into this no one else. I didn’t take it that way no one else has said anything about it either we’re concerned with the safety of the situation that’s all. Most cars here that have backseats fit 3. 3 seats 3 seatbelts. Putting 4 minors in 3 seats is illegal here. Especially ones that need car seats and boosters. No more passengers than you have seatbelts by law. I’d raise concerns if I seen a mom forward facing her newborn the same way I raise concerns about 4 in 3 seats. It’s about safety and abiding by the law…. That’s all.

@Mou what does safe and affordable abortion have to do with this? i’m not against abortion, i’m not judging her for having lots of kids, i just don’t understand the decision to put an infant in the front seat. and for the record, the state we live in has full abortion access, no restrictions

Let people do their thing, she could have turned off the airbag and by doing so it’s fine. We often don’t know what people go trough and why they do what they do. Her children, her car, her life. In this era where there are so many things that are expensive we don’t know if that the only way she has to bring the kids to wherever she needs to ..
