There are laxative suppositories for babies over the counter. We had to give it to our peemie baby at around 3 months. Our pediatrician recommended it. But of course, talk to your pediatrician first before giving baby anything.
Something I did with my son was to get a teaspoon of dark brown sugar mixed with a bit of hot/warm water until it dissolved, I'd give him it before a bottle. After the 2nd or 3rd bottle he would usually poo. It sounds like an old wives tale, but it worked.
Get some prunes with a little water blend it and give it to him.
You’re doing all the right things ! Try offer more water as well .. I had a right issue with my LB with constipation from 6 months to I’d say 9 months (he’s now 10 months) and I ended up going to the gp who prescribed laxido for him (after us getting suppositories for him) .. the laxido helped us for quite a few weeks (longer term use with laxido is okay) .. I’ve now noticed he actively picks up his water beaker when he’s thirsty and now we don’t need laxido for him so I do think water intake helps !! Xx
Prune juice is good for constipation that’s what we tell the parents of the patients at my job at a pediatrics
Thank you everyone! As I posted this he just did the biggest poo ever 😂😂 think he knew I’d asked for help 😂😂
My LB was constipated for over a month and it was very scary. His doctor suggested 1-2 ounces of prune juice and then if it still isn’t normal to try a suppository after 1 week. After doing that over and over I realized he wasn’t getting enough (food) milk so I had to switch him over to formula and he’s been going regularly now. He wasn’t getting enough from eating so everything he consumed his body used so there was no waste but now he drinks formula and loves food and goes a couple times a day :) definitely let your doctor know and when it started! (:
Try prune juice 1oz in a bottle of milk
2 Apple sauce packets maybe just even 1 will help work things out! I buy the organic Apple sauce pouches at costco and if my son get constipated or looks like he is having a hard time pooping I will give him a pouch our 2 and it helps clear him out. Apple sauce contains pectin, which is a fiber and helps move the stool easily through the digestive tract. Pectin also acts as a natural stool softener, making bowel movements more comfortable 😊
Prunes water water water gripe water and I’d all else fails go to the doctor and get a suppository or whatever they prescribe
Oh yeah apples 100% apple juice
Also make a pear puree helps us out
My toddler has always had a tendency to get constipated, despite drinking lots of water and me feeding him soup so I give him about an ounce of cherry flavored pedialyte mixed with about 4oz of water in the mornings and he drinks the whole bottle and that helps a lot. Also try to feed your baby liquidy soup if they are on solids, when they are constipated because a lot of babies aren’t used to drinking much water yet.
My son gets pebbles all the time. I think it just means slightly constipated and needs more fiber. Google what poop should look like in a Toddler. It helped me out a lot.
