@Kimberley we are using cow and gate as well just starting to wonder if it’s the milk she’s 4 weeks old and it seems like she’s so uncomfortable all the time and only settled if being held xx
@Chloe I've seen alot of people saying their babies are constipated with cow and gate. I have just read online though that fussiness, gass and constipation are normal in babies due to them having very weak abdominal muscles so they have to work harder to pass gas and stool. Just found this link, doesn't say when you should change formula for sure though - https://www.happyfamilyorganics.com/learning-center/article/switching-formulas/
Yeh I am starting to wonder if it’s cow and gate as I’ve seen a lot too - someone on another post has explained exactly how my little girl is and they said it was a dairy issue. Thank you just had a look at this - it’s hard to know what to do for the best. Xx
@Chloe we’ve had a similar issue with my lo, he’s mainly breastfed but this has happened since introducing formula. He’s also had more sick come up and yesterday projectile vomited what looked to be the whole bottle of formula. It just kept coming out. We took him to a the doctor and they have referred him to be checked for cmpa and prescribed him cows milk free formula. He was on kendamil. We did have similar issues with my first when introducing formula but just with the constipation not being sick and that was just him getting used to the formula. In the end the doctor gave us some lactulose for him which helped get things moving and he soon settled onto the formula. X
We had the same issue but with Aptamil so switched to Cow & Gate which has helped. If your LO is struggling you could try switching to Cow & Gate Comfort, it's designed for constipation as it helps break down the proteins for them. It wouldn't be so much of a risk further upsetting her tummy switching to another brand either 😊 My health visitor also told me that from around 6 weeks they learn how to digest the milk, beforehand its an automatic reaction to just poop it straight out but from then they have to work out what muscles to use to digest their food, unsure how old your little girl is but could also explain it. My daughter is now 10 weeks old and is back to pooping once or twice a day but it's taken a few weeks for her to adjust. Hope this helps x
Following. Currently using cow and gate for my little boy and he poops every 2-3 days if I'm lucky and always seems to be so uncomfortable right before he poops 😖😭 He burps and pumps great too
