@Paige thankyou. So frustrating that they wait until you've had 6 losses 😞 A loss is a loss and it's life altering. I'm taking folic acid already as prescribed by the GP, have been for a while, we'll see I guess. Fingers crossed something happens before I get my appointment through although I'm not convinced 🥺
What mg did the dr give you ? Because I’ve had 5 losses she said I’m not excluding that and using you as just a number but until it’s 6 I won’t give you the injections . Honestly I waited so long for my appointment I was disappointed init just waiting on the amh results x
@Paige I got given Folic Acid 400 and vitamin b and vitamin d supplements from her x
Yh that’s the lowest 400mcg, fertility clinic give u the 5mg dose little yellow ones x
Has your partner had semen analysis yet? We also did that before we went to the appointment. My next step after the first appointment was to be referred for a HyCoSy. I was then given Clomid for 6 months. After that we were given the choice of IUI or IVF. We opted to go straight to IVF.
It depends where your from. I'm in Scotland and my first appointment was over the phone about history etc and medications. Then I got an appointment to go to the hospital and my partner got his bmi done and so did I, I also got a scan which then they found I have pcos. Then they gave an appointment for my partner to come back to do a semen sample. After his sample we got an appointment for about 3 weeks later (which was yesterday) with the dr and spoke about our results. The Dr has now prescribed letrozole and metaformin to help with my ovulation so fingers crossed. She's gave me 3 months for it to hopefully work and in the first month I've to get scans to see if it's helping ovulation. After 3 months I've to get my tubes checked if I'm still not pregnant. Hope this helps, don't be nervous the ladies in the hospital were lovely x
@Andi my GP told him to book an appointment with his GP to let them know so I presume that will be asked of him then? It sounds like everyone has different experiences I guess depending on the situation. Thankyou xx
Also forgot to add, you said you've already had those other checks but since its been handed over to the infertility unit they will do it all again as they told us they look deeper into the tests and check for more things x
@Ruth that's really really helpful thankyou. I've been tracking my 'ovulation' but the tests are not showing any peaks so I'm not sure I'm ovulating either. Fingers crossed the meds help you lovely, thankyou for your message! X
@Ruth hey would you mind sharing which clinic you're with?
That’s good your partner is getting checked too. My husband had to have the semen analysis done at the hospital but the GP referred him. Did you have your day 21 bloods back? That should let you know if you ovulated that cycle. I was given Clomid to help with ovulation. I think everything varies by area including how many rounds of IVF you get provided by the NHS. Hope you’re not waiting long and they work out what they can do to help quickly. x
@Andi I haven't had my day 21 bloods back yet, but I'm not picking up any ovulation peaks on strips so I'm not hopeful but we'll see. Thankyou, I appreciate that! Hope you get what you need too xx
Tbh I thought they would do more , they write down all ur history of losses then prescribe you progesterone & folic acid for when u catch again . If over 6 losses they give you injections once u get your next positive u ring them and they scan you at 6-7 weeks ( I had mine 2 weeks ago )
