@Juli thank you I’ll try the chamomile tea tomorrow! As for the latch that makes so much sense, she’s been getting a bit lazy with it recently and I didn’t quite understand why! I will definitely seek some help with it 💕
That information was a huge eye opener! I’m excited to see if fixing his latch helps our nights because it’s rough over here 😅 These babies will get through it eventually- it’s a learning curve for everyone and you’ve got this ❤️ Hopefully your sweet girl gets some relief soon.
We experienced this around the same time and everyone kept telling me it was the “witching hour”. What I ended up doing was dimming the lights in our bathroom, laying in the bath water with her skin to skin 😂 literally did this almost everyday until about a month and a half in.
@Juli so true it’s just hard to see them crying and in pain! I hope it works out for you toooo xx
@Madelyn I didn’t even consider doing this!! I might have to give it a whirl if all else fails 😬
@Fee it’s what worked for us 😂🤷🏻♀️ the bath was and always has been an awesome reset for her. I can’t tell you how many times she would fart and poop all over me but it didn’t even matter because she wouldn’t cry 😂 I wouldn’t just drain the bath and wash us both up all over again.
Speaking of chamomile, I've been using a chamomile oil for my daughter. She's almost 8 weeks. It gets her trumping like a trumpet which helps prevent gas build up in her. The ointment is called aceite De manzanilla.
Super baby pose and gripe water and holding worked for my lo
I’ve been using infacol but not really found that to help, my mum said to try gripe water as she swore by it, she said to try dipping the dummy in and it used to soothe me when I was child. Anyways I tried it tonight with my LO and he slept from 9.30-1.00am with no discomfort or upsetting.
Infacol is fine at this age I used for mine in the early stages she's 7 months now xx
Simethicone
@Jehan where do you buy this from? Xx
@Becky i just searched on Google and got it off ebay. I was born in the Philippines and pretty much all household owns one of this. :)
My son is 4 weeks and going through the SAME thing in the evenings! If you think it’s a gas problem you could always try a little bit of chamomile tea if you’re looking for something both you and baby can be taking! I drink that in the evenings and put a few drops either in his bottle or use a syringe to squirt some in his mouth when breastfeeding. It eases tummy pain and gets gas moving really well! (For ALL ages!!) This is also a time when they naturally start to need a little bit more food and can cluster feed in the evenings so latching or giving them small amounts of milk can help a lot too. Also make sure your latch is good, that you’re getting good burps after feeds, and keeping her upright for a good amount of time in case she is struggling with reflux. I learned at the Chiropractor this morning that their mouths are growing and adjusting a lot around this time and it can cause their latch to be weakened which puts a lot more air in their bodies that they need to work out!
