Family if there is one, but I'm comfortable with my husband taking our daughter into the men's. Don't see why he'd take her into the women's, he'd feel awkward there anyway.

I would never want my daughter in a men’s bathroom. I run a restaurant and encourage men with any child to take them to the women’s bathroom. I offer to assist in entering and making sure that women present are comfortable with it etc. and I’ve never met a woman not willing to let the man enter.

When I was like 5 or 6 my dad took me into the men’s bathroom because the women’s bathroom line was too long lol I was really confused why all the guys were standing staring at walls

Hm. I’ve never ran into this issue yet. Probably the family if so. But I always take her.

Why would a man go into the women’s bathroom?!?! I don’t have a daughter but I tell my husband to take my son to the disabled toilet/family room

Yesterday I was berated for thinking this @Francesca on the same poll question. My husband said any man that wants to go into the women’s bathroom is a strange man.

@Shore totally!! As a woman and a mother I would find it wholly unacceptable if a man with his daughter (of ANY age) thought it ok to enter the women’s bathroom. This isn’t a trans point (don’t get me started on that rubbish 😂😂) but a father should use the disabled toilet or if the child old enough wait directly outside the ladies and let them go themselves.

family or men’s

If I’m not there, and there’s no family restroom, my husband usually will ask an employee if he could use the women’s bathroom to change our daughter. The employee usually waits until the bathroom is clear and will supervise by the door to let women know he’s in there. We don’t feel comfortable changing my daughter in the men’s restroom, so that’s just not an option for us.. Plus, often times theres not even a changing table in the men’s room..

Hang on…are we talking baby that needs a table? Or a daughter that just goes to the potty?

Yeah, my husband has taken our baby daughter in the men's room plenty of times, and dads should 100% have access to changing spaces just as much as moms should. Don't even get me started. I'm also not worried about her going into the men's room with him when she's older because he'll clock anyone who so much as looks at her funny. People gotta chill about restrooms. We're just there to pee. All this panic is the reason men are scared to take their daughters anywhere - if they take them into the men's room, people find that unacceptable, and if they take them into the women's room, someone finds that unacceptable, too. No matter what, they lose.

I’ve actually asked my oh to take my daughter at times to the men’s (like the theatre) as the queue is shorter.

My dad always took me into the men’s restroom. I encourage my husband to take my daughter into the women’s restroom though (if family/ diasbled room is not available and as long as he announces himself first). This is only in the very rare case I am not with them.

I don’t have a daughter but tbh if I saw a man come into the women’s toilets with a little girl I wouldn’t be angry or upset… but I also wouldn’t mind my husband taking my daughter to the men’s. 🤷🏼‍♀️ but in my head a man should take the child to the men’s if possible because I know other women may find it threatening or uncomfortable.

I’ve told him he has to take her in to the women’s. My dad did it with me. If you are judging a man for taking his daughter to the toilet where it’s 100% safer than you’re very odd. A lot of places don’t have family toilets or disabled with a changing table a lot of the time it’s in the women’s so then he would have to go in there. It should make no difference if they’re using the actual toilet if you would allow that. As an adult when I’ve been to places with unisex toilets I’ve felt incredibly uncomfortable seeing men at a urinal and you can tell that they feel the same. At least with the women’s no one’s seeing anything

I’d rather a father took his daughter into the women’s tbh. A little girl doesn’t need to be exposed to the things she may see in the men’s.

My husband uses the family/disabled bathrooms but when there wasn’t one he took her into the gents. Just carried her into a stall and changed her in there. I have zero issue with it.
