Formula at Night

How are you prepping for night feeds if you’re formula feeding? It’s a juggle trying to make a bottle at 4am as quickly as possible. I’d like to make this a bit easier for me and baby so she isn’t getting too upset waiting

I take to bed with me the formula already measured out in formula pots, a flask of hot water and my rapid cool and 2 bottles 🫶🏼

My baby is 1 in 2 weeks at the beginning used to do everything strictly by the books but over time you do what makes life easier (within reason obviously) we pre make his night time bottles and store them in the fridge, they last for 24hours so if they don’t wake or use them all you’ve got them for the day then also. It literally takes less than 30 seconds to put in microwave, stir well and done! We used rapid cool for day times but found it was still time consuming on the night

We pre-make and just give them from the fridge, he’s always been fine with cold milk and just makes life easier! They always get used within 24 hours x

Rapid cool! When she was little I would take it up with the bottles and a flask of hot water. Now she just waits while I go down and do it

I used ready to feed. I'd have sterilised bottles, RTF milk bottles and a warmer by the bed.

We have portioned out formula, a Flask of cooled boiled water and a Flask of boiled water . We make 4oz bottles and do 1 hot and 3 cooled

Rapid cool will change your life! Either this or a water dispenser where you can keep water at 70C constantly so you don’t have to wait for the kettle to boil. I have both, the disadvantage of the dispenser is that you still have to wait for the bottle to cool down to room temp

Tommee tippee bottle prep machine - life saver!

I prep the bottles before bed and when I hear him waking up I go heat it up. I did get a bottle warmer and this gives me a few minutes to collect myself at 3am lol I wake up in his stirring phase before he’s is hangry

I got my kid used to room temperature water. So a waterbottle with a measuring bottle next to it with water prepped for the first bottle. The 3 bottles prepped with formula prescooped into them. Since my baby likes to eat theres also a mason jar with formula so i can give extra scoops as needed.

I have a baby brezza formula maker thing.

@Chandra in the uk formula has to be added to water over 70c, it can’t be made with cool water. Also adding extra scoops of formula isn’t good for their tummy and can cause constipation etc

The Nuby Rapid Cool! Game changer x

We used the rapid cool to cool them down quick during night feeds 🤣

@Lauryn extra scoops and extra water. No one is over concentrating the milk here. If they drink 5oz and need 2 more the bottles i have prepped are all 5oz. So i do a small bottle of they are really hungry

@Chandra ahhh that makes sense! It sounded like you just added extra scoops of formula 😂

Thank you all, couple of options to consider xx
