Hungrier babies- anyone else?

My little one just drained a 4oz bottle and then just had another 2oz, could we be mistaking tummy ache/wind for hunger?

How old are they? There's a big difference between a 3 week old and a 7 week old They also may be eating too fast. Nursing typically takes longer and tires them out. Bottle flow is easier than the boob. I suggest reading up on paced feeding. Typically no baby needs more than 5oz of milk, especially this early. However, they are growing and cluster feeding is strong in my girl currently

@Michelle baby is 5 weeks today and we pace feed formula

hmm, that's totally possible! sometimes they just want to suck for comfort or maybe they’re just gassy, ya know? I actually checked the 'Heal App' for this and here’s what it says: "It's possible that your little one might be experiencing discomfort from gas or a tummy ache rather than true hunger, especially if they just consumed a significant amount of milk. Babies can sometimes show signs of distress or fussiness that can be mistaken for hunger cues. To help differentiate, you might try gently burping your baby after feeding to relieve any trapped air, and observe if they seem more comfortable afterward. Also, consider if they are showing signs of hunger again shortly after feeding, like rooting or sucking on their hands. How long has it been since their last feeding, and have you noticed any specific signs that make you think they might be in discomfort?"
