My baby is the same at the moment! Grunting all night and day, making her self sick from all the straining it’s heartbreaking xxxx
@Laura (Lor) my girl is breast fed and expressed breast milk.. that sounds so difficult with the formula switching, I hope it goes okay for you this time! It’s so hard hearing them upset 🥺
@Joodi oh bless her! Normally breastfed babies are always pooing lol but bless you guys for dealing with that and yeah it’s not nice at all😓 I hope it gets better for her and you find something that helps xx
I could have written this myself 😭😭 we went to the doctors and they gave us lactulose but hasn’t helped.. it’s just made he’s poo softer but he’s still straining for it 😭
My daughter is also 3 weeks today and We’re struggling too with trapped wind and getting her to poo … we have been using infacol for a week and I do think it has helped! We hold her upright and walk around the house, bounce her, try to wind her … literally trial and error but I agree it’s so horrible seeing them cry in pain! Hopefully it’s a phase and they will get better at getting it out 🤞🏼🤞🏼 xx
@Shannon oh bless! Their poop is already soft it’s just the straining isn’t it! It’s not like she’s constipated because she is still pooping it’s just causing her a lot of distress but it seems to happen more at night…
@Joodi my little boy was constipated he would screech in pain when pooing and it would by hard but since the lactulose there soft but still uncomfortable 😭😪yh my little boy is more of a night! Could be a build up from the milk all day!
@Elise aww, our girls are birthday twins! I just tried giving her the infacol now but she spat it back out 🫣 did this happen for you too? I suppose it’s the first flavor she’s tasting so I guess just keep trying so she’s used to it?
My little girls three weeks today too and we’re going through the exact same thing! She’s breast fed and constantly crying on the evening and today it’s started after her feeds too, so heartbreaking not being able to do anything to help her 😭 hope the infacol soothes your baby, I’ve not tried it yet but might give it a go this weekend xx
Same 😫 she didn't like infacol at first but now it's ok, I am not sure yet if it does anything though. Also trying to figure out if it is anything I do eat that causes her pain. It is so hard seeing them so in pain
@Julia I’ll keep trying with the infacol and hope it makes a difference! I wouldn’t even know where to start if it’s something that I’m eating… 🫣
My mum did tell me that fennel helps with their digestion, so I have been drinking fennel tea or there is some breastfeeding tea out there which has cumin or/and fennel in it which they will then get and absorb through the milk. Not sure if it helps but it can't do any harm either. X
If it’s dysechzia (grunting baby syndrome) it’s not actually causing pain. It’s really hard to watch as they look in pain with the straining and turning red etc but the cry is usually to help them push their abdominal muscles, and it’s merely frustration and not pain if that helps. Xx
We are exactly the same its eased off now, I thought it was colic but I've actually just decides to cut dairy out (it's one of the most common issues) because her poo was snotty which is a sign she doesn't agree with something im eating in my breast milk, so I'm now going through the process of eliminating whatever food is upsetting her, she's soo much better since I cut dairy out so looks like that is our answer🩷
This happened to my little one! He’s a month old. I know formula can cause some issues with their bellies if they’ve been on ready made formula at the hospital and then on powdered milk once at home. We went to the docs about it but then had to go to hospital for another reason so he’s used to ready made and now we have to do the transition to powdered again and I’m dreading the irritated and painful cries again 😓 I’m thinking of trying another brand of milk but ideally I would want to talk to a doctor about it first 🥴 Sorry it’s not really helpful but I know the pain you’re going through x
