I did horribly from 2nd trimester until I gave birth! Absolutely do the above but I would strongly recommend getting some lactulose from your doctor now to avoid the likelihood of haemorrhoids further down the line. TMI but I truly wish I had done this and saved myself the future pain, cos it ain’t pretty 🥲 Was absolutely hilarious when I was in labour because the midwives say “do you feel like you need a poo? That’s when you need to push” and I was like “but I needed to before I went into labour” 😂
Fybogel sachet at least one a day, eating more cereals/oats and fruit juice help with constipation. For wind/bloating peppermint tea works a charm :) x
Prunes, kiwis (especially with the skin on) and pears (with skin) are all very good foods for constipation. I was also suffering with constipation and found that spicy/indian food always helps to pass a good motion (soz for the tmi) 😂😂😂
Medication wise - docusate is a stool softener) or laxido - tastes awful and you have to drink at least 2L plus a day to make it effective
Flaxseeds every day, plums and kiwis
Me too. I actually have IBS with constipation so I’m finding it really difficult. I’ve chosen not to take any medication and just up my fibre. I find prunes/dried fruit etc are the best. You can get prune juice too in the super market, try to have that often. Also apples, I have one cut up with peanut butter and sprinkle seeds on. Loads of water!
Lactulose from dr/midwife xx
Constipation is the worst, I feel for you. Try Orange Juice, 1 glass a day. My mother in law swears by it and I’ve had no issues (touch wood) since having a glass daily. If you have bad wind/trapped gas you can also get tablets for it. Be sure to check they are pregnancy safe though as not all are. The Rennie Deflatine ones are. Hope this helps ☺️
