I’m having exactly the same with my little girl which also started before weaning. She’s had about 300ml over 4 bottles today! I only gave her a few spoonfuls of porridge in the morning so I don’t think it’s because she’s full!
@Georgia it’s so hard isn’t it because you can’t force them to drink it but it just doesn’t seem enough! And like you said the food is so minimal it can’t be because they’re full up! Especially as it started before weaning! I then wonder whether to give him more food to fill him up but that’s going to make him drink even less milk! Xx
It’s such a struggle and I just feel like I’m constantly worrying about her not having everything she needs! I was also thinking the same thing but I’m worried about less milk too! I wonder if there’s some sort of vitamin or something we can give them along with more food! But I could just be making things up 🤣xx
We’ve been having this for about while now some days she takes really well but getting less and less it’s a fight to get more than 600ml in her s day now. She rarely feeds at night either. I’m constantly worrying she’s not getting enough. We’ve tried faster teat but she refused completely after spluttering. 5 bottles a day, 6 bottles but nothing makes her take more.
@Kate what milk do you use for the weetabjx?
@Sarah We have just been putting his Kendamil milk in about 30-40ml ( just another way of getting milk into him that way also)
My little one has gone off his lunch and tea time bottles, before he would take 7oz both times and now only has 3-4oz each time. I’ve been mixing some of the milk with some food to try and get him to take more. I mix it with porridge or baby rice or even to make mashed potatoes
My boy has not dropped the amount he drinks which has surprised me. Still 7 bottles, 1000-1100ml a day and he has 2 "meals" a day at the moment.
My baby will have 8/9oz of milk 4 times a day and then 1 puréed fruit or veg once a day xx
Babies need 150-200ml of milk per day for every kilo of their weight until 6 months and then it should stay the same until they’re getting enough food to substitute. I’ve always used this guide xx https://www.cgbabyclub.co.uk/baby/feeding/bottlefeeding/how-much-and-how-often-should-i-bottlefeed-my-baby.html
