VW Tiguan

Currently have a VW TROC and it's although atm my husband sits behind me in the car, we're thinking or future proofing because if we have another baby there isn't enough space for my husband in the front seat (he's 6ft 3) or enough space for another ERF. Looking at the Tiguan and wondering if anyone can tell me if they have experience with tall people in the car and the Avionaut Sky 2.0 Hope that makes sense. TIA

My partner is 6ft5 and we have the Tiguan allspace, we had 2 rear facing seats in the back when we got it, the boot is massive we went on holiday and got 2 full size suitcases, a double buggy, a travel cot and 3 bags of shopping in there. He can also sit in the passenger seat when I’m driving. Having said that, if you only have one baby can you not move the car seat to behind the drivers seat so he can get in the front?

@N 💞 ok great, for now we can yes, but thinking of trying for baby number 2 soon so want to future proof the car

We test drove a Tiguan allspace and our car seat didn’t fit behind my husband who is 5’10. We ended up taking our car seat to loads of showrooms and actually testing it before we settled on a Skoda Kodiaq which has ample room and is seven seats.

@Sarah what car seat do you have? I’m pretty sure the Skoda kodiaq has the exact same chassis as the allspace?

@N 💞 it is, but the interior is bigger on the Kodiaq. We have the maxi cosi pearl pro

@Sarah oh interesting, i always thought they were the same!

@Jenny that article is just on boot space by the looks of it. But yes looks like it’s marginally bigger overall. Cheaper too

@N 💞 ahh my bad 🤭 lol

We used to have a standard Tiguan when baby was newborn, but it had issues so had to get rid. When we were looking for a bigger car we went back to look at the Allspace as loved it before but it was just too small for us. Once the car seat was in my husband couldn’t position his seat in a comfortable driving position, and behind the passenger my knees were touching the dash to give enough room behind. We’ve had the Kodiaq a year now with baby no2 due shortly and it’s been perfect - my sons bike actually just lives in the boot and there’s still plenty of room for shopping etc
