Constipation

Waiting to hear back from medical professional. Baby has been really constipated and just started wheezing/squawking which i then realised she was pooping. Was extremely scary as i thought she was struggling to breathe/choking. Has this happened to anyone else?

Yes that happened to my 8 month baby girl. She didn't poop for 2 days and it cause very hard poop. She was not drinking enough milk and water. It's always an issue with my baby. After dr gave medication. Now she is good. Maybe try giving prune juice or pear if baby is 6month.

Ask if you can administer lactulose if babe is old enough for it. Has been a godsend for me.

Yes, how long has she not pooped for before this? Did it come out hard? How old is LO and does it happen frequently? It can either be infant dyschezia or it can be that she isn't able to digest her milkies properly (if shes breastfed that's another story as she shouldn't be constipated at all!) Try to start probiotics if you haven't already, it takes 2 weeks using them daily for them to start working but then if it's not an allergy issue (which you'll know if theres other symptoms along with it!) she hopefully won't be constipated anymore! I agree with the Lactulose, we used 2.5ml 2x a day, you can get it over the counter at boots or you can get it prescribed from your GP, it's just sugar water but it's made from milk sugars so if LO is CMPA or intolerant to lactose, which is rare at this age but still a thing! It won't help and will make constipation worse ❤️ Hope you get to the bottom of what has caused it!
